What engine does my Land Cruiser have? (9 Viewers)

Hello, recently my dad has purchased himself a 1982 bj40 Land Cruiser. But we are unsure what engine it has. The information plate says the B engine, but to us the engine looks more like a 3B engine and the seller mentioned it was a 3B. I have attached images so if anyone could help me out that would be great.

That is a 3B. Earlier ones have a steel valve cover, later they moved to a cast aluminum cover.

Edit: the non-stock intake makes me wonder if it's a 3B out of a commercial truck or forklift. Hard to say.
 
I concur with what is above mentioned.
3B late version (with rotary pump) equipped early 70-Series (i.e. BJ70 and BJ73).
If I recall well @Roma from AZ, USA did such a swap (see pics)...
