Not really today I've been working on it for awhile, just finally getting close to being done.
Need to clean a few things up and get it painted, want to say thanks to my dad for his help, Rocky for his help and Rockys buddy and neighbor for bending the tubing and the awesome welds he put down.

looks good Jason! just wondering if you put a bushing or bearing in the pivot point? i always thought about making one like yours but have it drop down (fold out) under the truck so it pivots on 2 points.
Thanks guys. No bushing or bearing in the pivot point, just a piece of 1.75 shaft, it does have a grease zerk in it you just can't see it in the pic. I expect it to wear over time and my thought process was to build everything heavy enough that I had material enough to sleeve it or what ever as it wears. I'm honestly more concerned with the latch side not being able to withstand the beating. I thought about building a swing down style aswell but I still drive this as a commuter some what regularly and just thought it would be to cumbersome to open and close and the gate on mine lifts up and a fold down style would always be in the way. I know it has some design weak points but it's the best I could figure out and be able to keep my bumper, it's what I get for not planning better when I started this whole thing lol.

Lost a rear tire off the 60 on I -24 in Chattanooga , suspect someone got distracted and did not get the lug nuts tight. I was going east the tire went over the wall and ended up on the left shoulder of west bound side. By the time the wrecker dropped me in a parking lot and I replaced the hub and rotor and got back to 24 the tire was gone , checked with the highway response guy and he did not pick it up. So I need a 37" tire for a spare.
By the way the reason the tires were off was to install longfield stud less hubs.

Didn't feel anything unusual but that's not saying much with this thing. I was greasing everything and noticed the shackle bolt had been rubbing the steering box. After closer look it was easy to see why.

I got the 80 legal again... tags expired in May right after GSMTR and it hadn't moved more than a few feet since. ACC this weekend and then annual next weekend, then back to work on the farm.
The guy at the emissions test knows you by now!
