My 4 pin trailer plug was giving some issues, so I got a replacement plug-n-play harness from Hopkins, then we bought an 18' trailer, so I bought a 4-7 pin plug for the 4runner and today I got it all installed.

It came with a mount that would have bolted it straight to the tab on the hitch, but it was going to hang way low and leave all the wires hanging down so I decided to just cut a hole and mount it in the bumper. Need to clean the sharpie off the bumper tomorrow.

Still need a brake controller and to wire it and the auxiliary circuit, but I can now at least have lights and signals on anything I want to pull.

went through all that effort to pin point the exact location and you still missed your mark. :moon:

Yeah, about that, I had it all marked and started thru and hit the brace behind the bumper, so had to move over the width of the plug..... the plug almost covers it up. Nothing I could do at that point but roll with it. :crybaby:

Thanks Ted. Eventually we will get things sorted so we can just hook up and go...

Talk about a kick in the balls.... I decided it was time to get the led bar bolted back on the 4runner today and decided it was time to just get that d@mn thing wired. So a few hours later I got everything hooked up, throw the switch and get this.....

Are you FU@#ING kidding me. It was in a box for a year, then mounted and unwired for a few months, then unbolted when I did my timing belt a few months ago. I didn't know they went bad or I would have wired it up long ago. :censor::censor::(:(

I texted Nick hopefully he will help me out on it. I was super excited too. :bang:

UPDATE: Nick called me this afternoon and said he had only seen that once before and it was a wiring problem that wasn't letting enough current get to the light itself. I am going to play with it this evening when I get home. It is wired in a direct feed loop so it could be. He also told me that if I couldn't get it to fire up to send it back and he would take a look at the guts.

Turns out the spades on the switch just needed to be swapped around til I got the correct closure connection. I will eventually wire them on a relay, but for now Let there be light.

And thanks to Nick for helping me figure out the error of my ways. :smokin:

At least it was an easy fix buddy.

Have had some random hard/non- lately and had pretty much traced it to a bad ground terminal at the battery. It wouldn't tighten or loosen but was slightly loose, so I fixed it today.

Prime 4x4 is where I've gotten both sets and I have been very pleased.

Did too much to list , it's getting closer by the day to coming alive .

The least you could do is post a picture of something. :flipoff2: I been hearing bout all this cool stuff you be doing but have only seen one picture from the day you brought it home.

Ok you asked so I'll deliver .

I have been in the middle of building a new to me trail rig . Its a 86 4 Runner that has been converted to solid axle with 5.29 gears . I didn't like that it was a automatic for many reasons so I have converted it over to a 5 speed . Well in the process I decided to put in a dual transfercase with 4.70 gears . I also wanted a dual stick so now I have 4 sticks to choose from . I also noticed the rear springs where screwed up ( I'm guessing from lack of a torque wrench) so I have replaced them . I have also replaced the entire brake system beings someone didn't know how I'm assuming . It took about an hour to remove the passenger side drum . I also replaced the cracked manifold . I hope this weekend to install the roll cage . I have already installed the new front bumper and 12K lbs winch . I also ordered some Pro Comp 17x9 wheels for the 35 Nitto Grabblers to mount too . As you can see it has been very busy around here . I am getting ready to order so new driveshafts so I can test drive it . here are some pics .

Today I hope to get my cage install started and finished tomorrow . I anyone is bored come on over . (bring beer something or someone drank all of mine) .

Looking good Rocky.
