Ok, so Ironman is out of the bumper, so I am thinking about doing the TJM that slee has, it is something a little different than the ironman/arb look... Oh, and took the running boards off today, wow were they rusted on...

I'm giving you 18 months before you sell this one.

I'll take 12 mo.

I'd say 18 is a fair assessment. I got it to get through school, carry babies etc... I will probably go back to some kind of car after school is over, and buy another something like a 40 to play with and rebuild. I am gonna go down to a 2 car system here for a while, can't justify the tan one sitting around not being driven while in school. I did sit in and fell in love with a 2012 BMW M5 yesterday, didn't love the pricetag though...117k is a bit out of my pay grade.

I guy I work with just got the M5, it is awesome!

Yeah, the one our dealership got in is the frozen black. That paint looks cool, but not worth the $7k, plus all the extra maintenance that is required with it... But my god it looks sexy, and 560hp makes me happy too!

I'm seeing some new M's in Europe that look like black primer with no clear coat and covered in shipping wax.
Is that frozen black?
And what is the extra maintenance?

Yeah, that is the "frozen" colors. They have warnings like "can't be washed with regular auto wash" "must purchase BMW frozen paint cleaner" and you must carry a bottle of a special cleaner with you in case bugs get on it, they have to be removed immediately with some kind of spray on bug remover specific from BMW. It has it's own pain maintenence booklet and you have to sign a "paint waiver" before you can take delivery of your car stating that you understand all the crap you have to do to make it look like spray paint

I could be of assistance here...be happy to keep the fluids circulating for ya and even pay for gas myself! Truck is too pretty to let sit. :D

Best is to take the driveshaft off separate it and lube it that way.

Thanks for this tip, so easy...I will always do it this way now.

Fixed my parking brake, 1 of the shoe retaining clips was completely sheared off. Adjusted valves. Flushed coolant.

Sorry, it just sold to a kid from the coast (NC) who is planning on joining up with ONSC, so I gave him Ashcroft's contact info, hopefully we will see some pics of it on down the road...

Does he have a screen name??? Want to see if he wants to make it to the event this weekend.

No screen name, he has been a lurker on pirate, but I would expect him to be on here soon. I suspect someone in the Wrightsville Beach area will pipe up when they see a lifted 60 with a UC sticker on the back cruising around.

Ordered up a stock tie rod (to replace my FJ hybrid that has my steering wheel off) and a full set of EBC ultimax rotors and yellow pads (super sticky). Looks like I will be taking things apart soon :)

last weekend

Removed all the floor associated hardware and began removing all the underseat brackets getting ready for a new addition from Wagon Gear. Insulated the inside of the firewall with heat shield from second skin audio, also insulated the overhead with the heat reflecting product after three coats of specter sound dampining paint on the roof and floor area, also coated inside the wagon gear storage bins in the fenders and the tailgate. Took a short ride and even when only half finished the level of noised is down about 40 decibels or so really impressed with the sound deadining of what amounts to three coats of paint. Ran out of time and had to put off finishing the sound deadining with a closed cell foam all along the rest of the floor board, and the heat shield instlation also got put off for a while. Update to any one who is interested the fuel injection that Marshall installed is great. Cold starts are wonderful just hit it and go. After I adjusted the plugs(read re-gapped) and fixed an exhaust leak the beast is really nice to drive. While not quite as strong as the webber it is a different truck now. Lost just a little top end but the mileage is amazing it has at least doubled, I was getting 8 on a good day with the 2F and the webber, and I checked it the other day on I-95 a measured 20 miles at 65 and got 15.6 so I am overall really impressed with this kit and Pleased to have Marshall's help and expert work to make that part a reality. Now to get the insulation installed and figure out what kind of seats to mount. For anyof you who have asked those Corbu's look good but they are not holding up at all. So they are history, they will be for sale shortly might be ok for a normal sized person but throw 300 pounds in and out of them and they go to crap really quick. :)

Ordered a TJM bumper from Slee, and a set of BFG a/t's to go on later this week. Hopefully the lift gets here this week too! I hope to only drive a stock 100 for a short time...

no more warm and toasty toe's and new seat mount

AS the running of the beast is fairly well sorted out I have begun to address the high temp directly over the headers and the incredible noise from the low range gears. Here are a few photos of removing the brackets under the seat, painting the sound deadening paint spectrum strange it goes on purple then dries black(and it really does work I had to throw the seat back in and run to town with just the paint and not all the other insulation in and it already is a whold lot more quiet. 071med.webp

Lift on 100 installed... Had to torch the old T-bars off because they were rust welded in to the forward mounts, then drill a hole and press them out. I swear folks don't know to wash the underside of their vehicles off after it snows, every bolt under this thing is rusty... I dread doing the diff drop...

Use photobucket? its easier IMHO that using the MUD attachments and keeping up with how much space you have left, etc.
