Good to know. I'll pass that on.

Yeah, no biggie, a $6 adapter works wonders...if the inverter carries the load I will probably rig it to run constant, but I think the inverter draws more than DC right off the battery from what the instructions say.

I will say it is a nice unit. The bag coming with it was a highlight. The controls being top mount and having low voltage detection is very cool. I was impressed with the build quality. It can run on AC/DC, even 110 or 220 AC, 12 or 24V DC! That is pretty cool.

Will let you know how it works once I get the adapter...or I get impatient and wire up a DC line :)

got tabs made up for the soft top to secure it to the tub along lower part of the sides/windows so hopefully no more flapping. I didn't mind the flapping during the warmer weather as the flapping noise can't be heard over the v8, tires and 3 speed whine. Not to mention i only put the top on in the warm weather when forcast calls for a few days of rain. So up until now it was simply not an issue

also removed driver door that hasn't fit right since i got the rig. Looks like at one time a tree got out and put all it's weight on the center of the top of door frame.

rigged up a stand with an old model A sitting on a metal engine cradle and a wood block on top and fed the top of the door into the hyd. press.

Took two tries in the press and the aid of an adjustable wrench to make her fit flush again.

Hopfully my morning commutes will be a little warmer. Also did a bit of patch work on filling up the holes on the firewall that put out seriously cold air in the winter yet in the summer put out air that could have melted the one ring ring that's said to "controll them all"

My Waeco has suddenly stopped working. I typically get a flashing red LED if the voltage drops below nominal levels overnight, but I now have a solid red LED (meaning very bad news). I called Dometic USA and they said it usually means a loose wire on the control panel. I removed the outer housing and checked all the wiring - pulled every connection and looked for corrosion and reconnected. Still no progress. I've tried several different power sources...multiple cig outlets, the factory inverter and straight DC to my fuse panel...all the same results. I plan to call tech support back today, but not expecting any miracle cures over the phone. Anybody got any ideas?

Can you try AC to see if it works at all? Could be a problem on the DC side?

I am 90% finished with the tool/camping box in the back of the 62, ordered the drawers today and still have to figure out the locks to keep the drawers from sliding around and the lids from opening if I ever get upside down...

got some new to me Michelin 30.5x10.5 or so tires.. essentially free and essentially 90-95% tread left...
ordered a spindle to start fabbing the spare tire carrier on the 62, and some trailgear sliders...

installed the rear heater with the RARE two speed rear fan in the 40

flushed the cooling system in the 40, and added my stock spare tire carrier on the back

Ordered front front shocks and spring hanger bolts from SOR because CCOT did a poor job packaging our 4" lift kit and some items didn't make it! CCOT says it's UPS's fault, UPS says it's CCOT's fault!:mad::mad::mad:.....no help from either and truck sitting with a half completed lift as a result!

Wow! Good to know CCOT has never heard of shipping insurance. Sounds like a great Cruiser Vendor to do business with. I bought all my susp. goodies from Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters when I had a 40.

Does shipping insurance cover it, if UPS claims the packaging failed (as opposed to the package simply being lost)? I'm not trying to be sarcastic, just never been put in that position before and would like some first hand knowledge.

i ordered my tcase rebuild kit from ccot. They better not screw it up......

CCOT shipping problems

Hey gang,
The problem is this; when I talk to CCOT they claim that once it leaves their facility than it's out of their hands (the policay is actually written on their website). So they're looking into it with UPS. When I talk to UPS regarding the matter, they say that even though the package was damaged during shipping the packaging was not sutibale for what it was carrying (shocks, u-bolts+nuts, spring hanger pins and bushings). The box looks like it had something heavy placed on it and the side blew open. So I suspect the shock and other odds and ends fell out. My wife picked up the packages and didn't notice the damage as it had been taped over (perhaps it was repaired after being damaged? I don't know). Anyhow, UPS says that the packaging material was not heavy enough so my beef is with CCOT (which I sort of agree but even still, does UPS have no liability in damaging shippments?!). Also, UPS claims the only way they can truly investigate is if I had kept the package as was without being opened! Well I didn't know anything was wrong until I opened the box....I didn't even think of keeping it as I was too excited to get the rest of the kit on the truck! My bad:doh:

CCOT says it's damaged during shipping so it's UPS's problem. Apparently CCOT is looking into it with UPS but I'm tired of waiting, so I bit the bullet and ordered through SOR......
I hope everyone else has a better experience!

Any vendor I've used that parts fell out and/or were missing were quickly sent out free replacements. That is sad to hear about CCOT

UPDATE:
I got home from work this evening and there was a message from CCOT to call them back regarding these problems and to ensure they ship everything that was missing:). I got in too late and they were closed by the time I called back.

Unfortunately, I got tired of waiting and went ahead and ordered the missing items through SOR, but that's my own fault.
The good thing is, however, that CCOT seems willing to step up to the plate!
Anyhow, I've totally hijacked this thread, so to get back on track. I brought some factory rims over to a local tire shop to have BFG, AT KO, 33*10.5 mounted:)

pics or it didn't happen!!

Knock on wood, but I think I successfully repaired the failed AIR system and subsequent coolant leak on the GX..... Third time is the charm..... I hope
