Bob - In my research the only thing I could find currently available are the BFG AT KO, the BFG MT KM2 (very spotty availability), the Toyo MT (Expensive), and a couple TSL Swampers

Tire Rack is showing the AT and MT BFG in stock. That's where i got mine from a few years ago. KM1's on sale for 95 per tire.

Oil Change and filter change and thought I'd check the timing. Timing was sitting at TDC, so I adjust to 10°BTDC, and get tons of pinging under load. Reduce to the BB (7° BTDC) and still get pinging. About frustrated, I move the vac advance from the large pot to the small pot on the dizzy, and now it's find  Spent several hours trying to fix, only to realize I put the vacuum hose back on wrong. Oh, and I lost the drain plug washer, so I had to take some old gasket material and make a Mafia style 2-piece gasket to work until the next oil change. Sometimes, I think it's just better to not touch the truck.

valve cover gaskets!!!

Lol....I changed the oil and had the same thing happen....went and bought a new 5 gallon bucket and washer....drained it again put the washer on and refilled....the little things are always the problem

Started installing HFS 4" lift kit.
I got all the old junk off and the new springs and shackles installed. Ran out of time to go any further.......
Hopefully in the new year!

got one knuckle rebuilt today on the disk fj40 axle while waiting on Fedex to bring me the rebuilt kit on the 80 waiting in the other bay.

20min til 5 and still no fedex :(

would have also gotten my 4runner caliper bolted on but i broke the disk on my grinder and left the spares at home

also need more grease before i can put the wheel bearings in.

power disk brakes on an early 40....this is going to be sweet!!!

Watched my family wrap my Iron Man fridge and put it under the tree.

Dan and Heather,

Please keep us informed regarding your thoughts on Iron Man stuff. I have found reviews but it's nice to hear from someone you know.

I will, I have everything on the GX as Iron Man (except the skids, which were sourced by Iron Man) so I will have a real impression!

So far the suspension is amazing. Top notch, better than Alcan and OME from my experience.

Will do.

And on that note, my truck arrives here in Houston tomorrow!

started the knuckle rebuild on my disk axle!!!

spent about an hour with the bead blaster just on the locking hubs dust shield

Get the dust sheild Eliminator kit from trail gear. They also have the heavy duty. Plates for the felt wipers. Did them on my axle. Good stuff and not too expensive.

Buy them from Bobby Long. He was the one who came up with them.

Longs rock! I would gladly give Bobby my business again if I need his products!

as far as the dust shield eliminator,,,for us REALLY cheap guys,,, you can make your own with an angle grinder,,, just cut the shield off leaving the thicker ring..

and Steve,, there is your payment for working those long hours !
