as far as the dust shield eliminator,,,for us REALLY cheap guys,,, you can make your own with an angle grinder,,, just cut the shield off leaving the thicker ring..

and Steve,, there is your payment for working those long hours !
. Exactltly why would I blow money when I have the ability to make it myself. I haven't decided if I am ditching the shield or not

I have gotten rid of mine and on the cruiser I just sold,, never miss them,, but you have to use a rubber or ss braided brake line,, what I truly like about doing it is that you can remove the caliper without having to disconnect the brake line,, just hang it up off the sway bar link with a coat hanger and pull the rotor/hub/birfield etc....I get ss braided dot lines from athens...

Took off the 315's because they just weren't working with factory wheel BS'ing and a 2.5" lift. Got a new set of Kelly Safari Trex 285/75's. Love them. Ride smooth and have a tread equal to about a Nitto Terra Grappler.

David rebuilt the axle for me while I was in Iraq so I was trying to make it as painless as possible so I just ordered the parts instead of having him Fab up parts. I have the extended SS brake lines. No problems.

wanted to ditch the dust shields after reading a bunch of stuff about them getting bent up and snagging the brake lines. And also trapping crap up against the rotors

Got the valve cover on the 60 removed, repainted and new gasket installed. Also completed the oil galley plug repair. Tried to replace the pcv valve, but as suspected the aftermarket one didnt fit so I am ordering an OEM peice on tuesday. Drained to oil in preperation for the oil pan gasket replacement.

Fired up the Gx on Friday to a loud fan noise and some trouble codes. Looks like ill have to tear into the top end to check and or replace the air injection pump and or valving. This involves taking the intake manifold off.

This Gx is proving to be a dissapointing purchase - might be looking at a Sequoia next week.

just got my 3 1/2 ton floor jack. Look out tcase here i come!!!

My wife got a Disco cup holder for the 80! :bounce: Headed to the mountains Wed-Sunday.

Not my truck yet, but looked at 3 more 4runners today on the way home from Pickens. Going to call about 2 of them in the morning. The third had rust, like many of them I have seen.

Heather- love your LX... Can I get your honest opinion on the Ironman commercial bumper? Does it stick out too far? Anything that you dont like about it? Seriously considering buying one this week while their products are 10% off. I like the Look of the ARB but it is about $400 more and does not include the fog lights. Definitely buying the same lift kit that you bought and will be having ACC install everything in a few weeks. Thanks

I would like to know as well. I PM'd them A few days ago but haven't heard back on costs for a 80 series and a 3rd gen 4runner. I didn't know about the 10% off sale. Going to their mud page and web page tonight.

I would be doing the install myself.

I'd like to know too; however, the 2003+ arb will fit the earlier hundy and it has fogs. Won't help with the price though. Just FYI if you do want to go with arb.

Thanks! So, now that I have the truck, I LOVE the bumper. I really don't think it sticks out any farther than the ARB. Frankly, unless you really were studying bumpers, a casual glance and you really wouldn't know the difference. The winch sits in the bumper beautifully. good amount of room to get to the clutch. The workmanship seems to be very stout.

The lift is very nice, I am so glad not to have to deal with AHC and all that. I am pleased with that decision. The Slee skids are very nicely done, but they do weight the front of the truck down a bit, so I feel like I am a little stinkbugged.

Anyway, it's really a nice bumper and I don't regret my decision. For the money, you can't beat it.

BTW, the lights in the bumper require the addition of an inline resistor or your turn signals will go blinky blinky like crazy!

I drove a 2011 Prado rhd with a turbo diesel....I am in love.

after blasting one of the dust shields a few thin spots revealed that the rust had eaten through her at more than a few spots.

side grinder to the rescue....no more dust shields

i already have SS extended brake cables that run to my wheel cylinder dist. block.

Looks like it has a 10 to 9mm adapter on her so the SS lines should already be set up for 10mm Male thread.

other than the mods i have to make to the arm on the brake booster this will hopefully be a pretty "bolt on" disk brake swap.

Wheeled it!

So today I met a couple folks from the 100-series forum and we wheeled! Very different from what I am used to. A LOT of water, mud, and sand. The truck wheeled great. Much bigger than what I am used to, but I'll adjust.

I did get to try out the new winch and it's a little small for the truck. We had to winch off another truck in the sand and I had to use the snatch block to get the power I needed to get up the hill and out of the predicment I found myself in.

Anyway, here's one of the stucks. I don't have pics of my truck, but I'll share when the other folks post theirs.
