What did you do with your truck this week?

did a bit of off roading with Gabe

installed some extra leafs in my rear packs to give it about 1" lift...will have to put some aftermarket springs under the back of her if the 2" body lift doesn't give me the clearance i need for the isuzu swap.

Loaded down now with all my camping supplies except for the coolers she sits nicely. I'm sure once i unload everything the back will sit slightly higher than the front.

I'll have to enjoy her alot this week because when i return the 2F comes out and the 4bd1t goes in!

PICS?

my cellphone is shot so pics are hard to come by these days...hopefully someone at the low country boil will find my cruiser appealing enough for pics and will post them for me!

i have some 1" square tubing left over 14 gauge, 3 tubes about 3-4ft long if you think it will work for your spare tire mount bracket.

at the next wrenching get together i'll bring them to you...just PM me to remind me, they are sitting behind the door to the shop where the out of sight/out of mind rules apply!

Hit the mountains. 50 miles of gravel following scenic river corridors and finally a lonely gravel climb to the parkway to boone and back home.

so had to share a lil love.....er.....wax with the 80 for doing so well. Plus regardless of being committed as my wheeling rig, the pinstripes were getting kinda rough :princess:

You need to send me a map of this place :)

Measured clearance of front grill when opening hood for new front bumper and winch combo with bull bars... :)

Ordered rear bumper with swingouts for tire and jerry cans :)

Filled with gas again....no repairs since purchase. :) :)

Got my ultraguage in the mail today and plugged it in to see how it worked. When i plugged it in, it brought up 53 different guages. I'll post pics in a little bit.

I have been delinquent:

First thing to mention from this past week:

Well, saw this on during Mecum Auto Auctions a while back...price went up $10 to the new sale price listed of $59.95 plus shipping with $9 rebate.

Up to 75 gauges are displayable dependent on your particular vehicle...works with OBII vehicles only but there is also an additional EXCEPTION LIST on website of other vehicles it also will not work and mostly Taco's from what I saw from Toyota stable.

Read some other forums where they all were happy with it especially for price...and a long thread on 80 Series forum as well with positive comments. So going to give it a try for my Hundy....even though I almost bought a ScanGauge from Autozone last weekend. LOL

Plus on top left of website you can pic the terrain in windshield...put mine on DIRT...:D :D

They even have a tool to help you find your OBD port in vehicle with graphics

Last Month I sold the Slee Sliders and bought a set of White Knuckle Offroad sliders. Absolutely happy with Slee version but really wanted some with a little kickout at rear like I had on my FJC. They were not available when I bought my Slee set...but came out soon after so had to make switch. Not hit trails yet but hope to remedy that this month or next at latest.

also paid for my Bump It Offroad rear bumper with both a tire swingout with hi-lift mount and also a jerry can swingout on other side...with integral 2" receiver for hitch....and rear panel protection behind wheels as well.

Will post pics when arrives here or in build thread...parts being cut out now...sometime in Nov should be installed.

added almost 700 miles (2 of em offroad :bounce: ), a few pinstripes, and got her back in her element :)

sweet!

I took Friday off to have an extra day to work on my truck and Bertha. Got my skids re-engineered to bypass a lot of the factory weldnuts.

We got Bertha's wiring harness installed as well as the fan (we weren't sure it was going to fit with the OEM radiator). I think we'll have that engine fired up in a couple weeks for the first time.

I finished setting up my Ultra Gauge.

Here are some pics of mine up and running tonight:

Photo aligns with Gauge Selections shown
Zone Page Gauge
A Instantaneous MPG
B Average MPG – General
C Fuel Tank Gallons Remaining
D Distance to Empty (DTE)
E Oil Distance
F Service Distance

G Average MPH –trip
H Average MPG –trip
I Fuel Used –trip
J Gallons/Hour – trip
K Run Time – trip
L Distance – trip

M MPH
N RPM
O Engine Coolant Temperature
P Air Intake temperature
Q Percent Engine Load
R Ignition Timing Advance

As mentioned earlier....the HEART shows that it is communicating with ECU properly. The halo/circle to right side is the Closed Loop Emissions validation.

I also followed procedure for rebate...a bit of pain in the @$$...as you have to initiate the gauge and write down a whole slew of codes to enter into the online submission form. Takes about 15 minutes total.

Doesn't the ultra gauge only work with OBDII trucks??

took care of leaky front t/c seal

finally washed all the salt off of the truck from the beach trip just to put the kayaks back on it yesterday evenging and dumped more sand all over the roof/rain gutters. To top it off the bass were not even biting but still enjoyed having a few beers in the little tree farm pond.
