Spent some time helping where we could in NC. It will be a long recovery for many but the community bonds and resilience I experienced was incredible. Too many examples to list here, and don’t really want to bother with pics of the carnage. I will share one of a shot someone took of me somewhere north of Bat Cave, and the street at Spruce Pine where some of UC ate diner after our Christmas Tree run several years ago after leaving Snow Creek Tree Farm

What an absolute pain in the rear for a feature I don’t even want. Well, it’s done. Next up is the brake booster on an 80. At least that is useful.

The holiday has kind of shut down any work on the LX 450. But the head has been decked, valves redone and new seals installed. Next is going to be block clean up ( still has cross hatches in the bores after 309,000 miles) and reassembly with ARP studs and a metal gasket for future boost.!!

I won’t say what I did to my truck this week, but let’s talk about the last month and a half. After discovering a small head gasket leak between cylinders one and two, the LX I had to come down. It is back running again with new every freaking thing. All new hoses, all new sensors, all new gaskets, seals, brand new rebuild head, multi layer gasket, and ARP head studs planning for future boost. Also installed the rebuilt transfer case with the sumo gear high range reduction and 25% low range reduction. Can’t wait to try that out. She’s almost ready for the road again. by the way, I put a close-up of the cams. Those cams have not been machined. That is 307,000 miles of solid Toyota 1FZ-FE badassery. They look brand new.

Assembly lube on that valve train before you start?

Looks good.
