Went playing in the snow last weekend just outside of Truckee, CA.

what kind of hitch is that? Bought or built? Do you tow with it, or just bike racks, etc?

Looks like the old-school bolt to the crossmember hitch.

The 105 spindles swap right over to an 80? Any mods required? I like the needle bearings vs the brass bush.

They do and it is a worthy upgrade. Nice to get rid of the deep groove from the grease seal as well.

Cheers

Requires a special birf

Please help this noob on zerk fitting in end of axle - I know what its for .Just havent seen this . so just an 8mm fitting screwed in or ?
Nice build ! TIA

There are several versions of the "bolt to crossmember" hitch, I have one of them currently. But it still interferes with my skinny 35" spare. The one @Outsane posted looks like it stays completely aft of the crossmember by the pic :)

I'm assuming that's because the tube extends back into where the tire sits? I've seen the other version somewhere, can't remember exactly where.

Yeah, the receiver tube extends about 3/4" behind the crossmember, which is just enough to mess up my spare (which lightly rubs the panhard anyway  ). Trying to decide whether to modify it, build from scratch or what. I bought the pintle/ball combo hitch, but the thing sticks out so far I feel like I'd need to unbolt it just to go wheeling. If an off-the-shelf option exists that's actually strong enough to tow (US tow ratings aside), I'd buy that sucker in a heartbeat.

Spindles are the same and are interchangeable. If your 80 spindles are in good shape still, you can just buy the 105 series combo bushing (half brass half needle bearings) to install into your 80 spindle. Lots cheaper than buying the whole spindle assy. I'm certain @cruiseroutfit can get you the bushing/bearing.

But of course, all in stock :D

We stock the bushings separate, the bushing/bearing combo separate or the full spindle with the pre-installed bearing/bushing. Most are available from us in OEM or aftermarket variants too :D

We stock the new variant spindles in both OEM Toyota and Joint Fuji Japanese too

As noted can actually use the long bushing in the new spindle and vice versa. There are a few out there that prefer the bushing only (Kevin RIP!!)

Got the @NLXTACY land tank seat extension installed and like others have said it is like driving a new truck. I was honestly blown away at how big of a difference it makes, not only the extra length but the extra height. Highly recommend for anyone tall that feels cramped. At 6”3’ best upgrade for the money IMO
