Got my old carb out and new one in and what a difference so far so good! I'm sure in the next week or so something will happen due to me putting something in the wrong place!

While I had it off I finished putting most of my new vacuum lines well all but 5.... Save it for next time
!

Where'd you get the sexy vacuum line?

Why did the clutch dust boot get all melty?

Given enough time (many many years) and contact with oil, they tend to get all deformed and yicky..But yours doesn't look only yicky, it looks down right sicky. Nothing to fret over though, slap in a new one an you're good for another 20 yrs.

Ha, Ha! Awesome...love that song...

EDIT: @reevesci ...Oh, in that case you might like the documentary on the Muscle Shoals recording studio in N. Alabama...where Skynyrd did their first recordings...Netflix has it...
X2 on that documentary!

Took my grandson and a couple of his friends camping. This trip was the maiden voyage of my off road trailer.

Barely the weekend, but last night installed toe rebuilt gearbox, and bled the system. Soooo much better. Today ordered a new tie rod set, and put on the new rear shackles(1" lift). No more saggy butt! And will hold me over until I can revamp the lift. Here is a pick with my trailer. Tomorrow will be a little test run to see how she pulls.

So how far past Squamish are you going? You picked a good hot summer to drive up.

Not going too far.. got a 7 mo. baby flying in on Monday with her momma....
Checking the local life....for two weeks....
It's been hot since I left LA on the midnight express.....

With only 89K miles, my seats covers are in great condition. That said, the old 60 seats are still not comfortable to my tush and old foam is old foam. I thought about picking up BMW or other seats and fabbing brackets. I also thought about SOR seat cushion bottoms. In the end, I decided to keep it looking original for now. I met a nice local fellow who is building new high density seat bottoms with a tad more side bolster and adding lower back bolsters, and will be slipping original seat covers back on tomorrow.

Original covers in good shape

Original foam a bit weary showing some underside cracking

Old apart

New bottoms being worked up

Will update finished job tomorrow.

A pic of the side bolsters added to seat backs.

Finished seats

First impressions from test drive. Love it. Night and day difference. Granted I have not done any 8 hour drives yet :), but so far loving it. Very firm, but not rock hard. Much more supportive - actually feel like I am sitting in a seat not on top of the corner of a lumpy old metal box spring mattress. No more needing to lean when I take a corner. Additional bolster build on bottom and seat back feels good. Feels like I got a suspension upgrade too :)

On to the next project...

New lift struts for the tailgate= vice grips to keep it open are no longer needed. Now if I could only figure out what is wrong with the latch on the tailgate :bang:.

I also threw one under the hood from a 4runner hatch that I found at the U Pull It last weekend. Driver side went on fine but the passenger side has clearance issues so I just stuck the spring back on it for now.
