What did you do with your 60 this weekend? (13 Viewers)

I went exploring with boots4. We were working out the final touches for our first ever Overnight/Expedition Run for Cruisin' The Woods 2014 (end of Sept.) It is going to be a pretty sweet route. :D

Was awesome bopping around the woods with two mobile (50W+) HAM radios to hit each other while we tried various spurs looking for potential group campsites.

Like always I save all plans and drawings. I would need to make a different arm. Because of the taper of the roof on the 60, the basket pedestal had to be
shifted to center. I'll have picks of the installed up by the end of the weekend

....there may even be a small fold down table on the inside of the basket arm.... now that I'm older I find myself doing more expedition type cruising. Rock Crawling competitions were great fun ..when I

Look forward to seeing the finished product. I might have to have you ship a right arm to fit my bumper or just stop by when I get back to Tucson. Expedition cruise for me for the next week in Wyoming.

Ken/Mike, when is this (last week in Sept?) If I have Goss ready by then, I'd like to tag along for this.

I think we're setting it up to meet in Gearhart on the coast the morning of Fri the 26th and take two days to make it to the event base at Browns Camp in TSF. Online registration should be starting very soon so watch www.cascadecruisers.com or look for an announcement on the Events forum here. We'd love to have you, and get your junk ready!

It's beautiful there. We haven't seen any real rain in over three months.

In the last pic it locks at 90 degrees. I guess it might make a table. I haven't really explored the possibilities yet

This weekend I broke 2 longfields, damaged both inner axles including a long spline inner for my ELocker, and damaged my rear diff. The most sh1t that I've ever broken at one time, and the best part it's on someone else's dime. Gotta love the deep pockets of Hollyeird people.

Hit me on how u did all that damage at one time? Pics of what u were wheeling over/thru would also be pretty good

Mounted the MAF headers and exhaust system. Sounds great, seems to run better though it didn't fix my failure to idle problem--gotta be FCS, on order from CCOT--lots of backfireing on decelleration, probably the FCS or timing. Seems lots hotter under the hood. Might put some 1/2" aluminum blocks under the hood mounts to raise the back of the hood for cooling. Don't ask for pics, I'm not going to bother, looks like all the other tri-y header setups ever done.

Tips: The bolts for the collector (y-pipe onto headers) are just exactly long enough if everything's perfect. Go get some that are 1/2" longer and your life will be much easier. Also, would have been much easer on the exhaust system with two people.

final pics. From here I can now make changes. I can pull it in about 1 1/2" closer to the body. Like always I will get the first gen on mine....I never seem to get the final version. Definitely more an expedition bumper versus a super tight crawler. It suits what I'm needing from this truck

As usual, great work Dave. I like the use of the pop-pins (spring loaded pins). Did you use 3/8" or 1/2" diameter?

J

I used 3/8 on this. I set it up as a double shear so i could use the smaller pin. There's really no load on it fully dropped. The only load fully retracted
is the weight of the arm and maybe a 2 or 3 gallon Rotopax. I can stand on the ladder at the 90 degree position. Doesn't appear to bother it. One thing I did that was a brain fart was to put the pin on the outside. Now it can swing open and the pin can drive into the body if I'm careless. I have a couple variations of stops coming in from McMaster Carr that I'll be checking out
