I dropped a tree limb on the rear hatch.:bang:
I guess I can put some plexiglass in it for now.

Groan, that sux. BTDT.
I was able to get replacement glass from cruiserparts.net in the 'shire... shipped to my door in Idaho. That was about eight years ago... Looks like you will need to do some metal reshaping also. Good Luck!

Interesting, my '89 62 has one, and I recently installed one in a new to me '89 Jeep XJ. Posted the install on another forum and ran into a coupla people who couldn't wrap their head around the benefit of it. Great upgrade!
60s weren't equipped with the grab handle. Makes climbing in a lot easier without tugging at steering wheel. I've had this on my upgrade list for many years. Now...it's reality.

Long overdue Birfield repack with kit from @cruiseroutfit . Didn't anticipate that I'd be replacing tie rod ends, too, after removal of steering arms. Is this pretty much standard? Boots didn't seem that crusty and used the universal TRE tool. Dealership quoting about $200 for stock TRE both sides.

Ask not what you can do for your 60, but what your 60 can do to you...

But hey, the vacuum gauge is installed now. Holds 15-18 on idle, depending on how warm it is.

Also installed new rear struts, lubricated the driver's side door, and installed a new OEM distributor cap and rotor. Didn't get around to doing the 2WD low mod. Final prep for it's first camping trip to the desert with me at the wheel, and I'm-- dare I say it-- feeling optimistic.

Nope. Well... after I spent a good hour scraping through the 3/4" thick coating of nastiness and beat the **** out of the arm with a brass drift... it came right off.

In all seriousness, once I popped it off the knuckle it swung free and was easy to clean (top and bottom). I didn't realize I needed an extra tool to pull it off; once I realized this though, I re-read that Jim_Phillips write-up and he talked about skipping it as well.

Yeh - there's always just that one extra tool. I'm going to spend the week cleaning everything up and get it in next weekend. Hope yours goes smooth.

With dual batteries my air intake hose was crushed against the headlight washer bottle. I relocated the washer bottle aft by a couple of inches with some riv-nuts and nylon spacers. Problem solved.

My really old red top was getting pretty weak cranking in the cold. Given recent experience with Optimas I decided to go with a Farm&Fleet Diehard Platinum 34DTP. Made by Deka/East Penn in the USA, more CCA than the Optima and less than half the cost. Hopefully it holds up.

So DieHard IS still making the Platinum moniker in some sorts... I know that normal SEARS no longer carry the Diehard Platinum. And nice stow spot for an extra quart of oil!

I'm honestly not sure what the relation is. The Diehards at Sears were I think made by Odyssey, whereas the F&F ones are made by East Penn.

Met the owner of Deaver Off Road and got new springs!
... anyone wanna trade 28's for 31's?

Funny, I added Manafree's 38 gal fuel tank to my 62 a few years ago and afterwards it was kinda sagging in the rear. I was referred to Deaver for help by Lee & Sons Alignment in Fullerton. I asked Mr. Deaver if he could beef up my rear springs and level it out. He said he could for $500. I paid him, and a few days later I picked it up and although he added a leaf or so, it was still low in the rear. That's when he said he couldn't. Couldn't lift it, that is. Apparently he could still keep my money though. Leave it to Deaver.

If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay for the F&F Diehard?

That's a deal compared to what they want at Sears!
