Edit:
able to install alternator fairly easily. Main issue was rusty hardware. I was able to fix the connector by degreasing and pushing the wire back in. I secured it with a tiny drop of super glue. Really wanted to put in the Sequoia 150 amp, but couldn’t find one close enough and the truck had to be done last night. Took me longer than it should have probably. I’ve got four stitches on top of my left hand which hampered me a bit. Not to hard. Definitely worth not spending whatever it would have cost. I’ve been trying to track down my stereo issue. I was hoping that the alternator dying was causing the “No External Connection” issue. I had a “new” amp sent from UAE, but the problem persists. I miss music and wish I could re wire the whole audio system.

I’m replacing the alternator in my 04. The alternator plug came out with one wire out. Anybody have any idea how best to fix this?

I'd look for a new alternator plug. Often times you can find them on Amazon. If not, somewhere like Ballanger Motorsports probably has then. If you get one that has pigtails attached, you can splice it in with some heat shrink butt connectors. Or, you can get one that's blank and install new pins on the existing harness. Using the pigtail method is probably easiest.

Just wrapped up a nearly 2,600 mile road trip for Thanksgiving. A few days prior to the trip I replaced the rear upper and lower control arms and added a rear driver spacer to correct the lean. Also replaced all 4 swaybar end links, both tie rod ends and added a nolathane rear anti sway bar. The GX feels way tighter under all conditions and it drives like new car again. Needless to say I'm very happy. The only suspension components I have not replaced in the front upper control arms and the track bar.

Installed some KC Hilight “Slim” lights up front, and re-located my Diode Dynamics cubes to the rear rack for area lighting. Also threw some small light pods under the sliders for unloading and setting up camp after dark.
Controlling these, plus some Diode Dynamics 6” bars (in amber) via an Auxbeam switch controller.
Found the nifty mount for it on Etsy…

Went hunting again with much better luck this time. The carrier works great for one deer but two is a bit sketch. Anyone else take the GX on a hunt?
Yes, but we don't tarp our deer down here in the Ozarks :).

Hit 160k miles. Changed oil, greased drivetrain and suspension, and rotated tires.

While I was down there, I repaired 2 skid plate threads with helicoils. Much easier than I expected, though I probably should have removed the skid plate when I repaired the 2nd one.

I need to replace one of my skid plate threads also. What length helicoil did you use? Any advice or link to what you purchased would be appreciated.

This is the kit I used: https://a.co/d/38HrCKY

It only has one length of helicoil but it's perfect for this job. I eye-ball'd the depth but the installation tool does have a stop to control the depth.

Get some cutting oil and a tap wrench/T-handle if you don't have one already. Tap Magic oil is what I used.

Our first GX was totaled in an accident. It was perfect, one old lady owned. Our second one was a little rougher. The rear bumper was new from a fender bender and looked odd with the chalky silver on the plastics. Wife has wanted painted black, I’ve resisted. So today I bumper cut the rear and used a Rustoleum Turbo Can. Looks pretty good. Not trying to win any beauty contests. Think I’ll go back over with a roller maybe. Makes me think of our two tone 80. Took me about an hour and a half.
