Good day in the garage! Finally made some time to take care of a few things. Fixed one coolant leak, may have created another, time will tell. Changed serpentine belt and pulleys. Changed reverse lights to LED. Also knocked out a few things on my XJ too.

Ooo rig looks nice! What sliders are those?
Apex/All-Pro for a 5th gen 4Runner. I got them in 2021 when were several hundred cheaper than GX470 sliders. You do need to drill and rivnut around 6 holes per side in the frame to use them. They've been great overall

They have been on for a while but RRW beadlocks -12, 315/70/17 KM3’s with a fender cut, Perry parts bumps, and a set of icon 2.5 ifp’s with delta joint uppers. Coming soon Dobinson ims LT rear shocks. So far it’s been great

Got Pirelli Scorpion AT Plus in 265/70 R17 installed. The Goodyear Wrangler Ultraterrains in the same size are going on OfferUp. So far so smooth and quiet.

Only 1 yellow mark lined up with the valve stem makes me a bit loco as did the rear spacer on the pad lift.

"upgraded" the windshield washer nozzles to the fan spray pattern type (Toyota p/n 85381-34030).

I tried going from under the hood, broke a few clips, then took a few steps back to reconsidered my strategy lol. It was way easier to just pop them out from the top.

Caught some flak on FB GXOR for posting photos of my headlight's output with LED bulbs in the OE projectors. I don't know about you guys but I think the above feel perfectly useful.

Meh, haters gunna hate, LOL. 😇
j/k probably just 'helpful' opinion sharing.
Yours look quite bright for driver IMO! I wonder about the cut-off and how they look from oncoming perspective.

I had a bulb go out and had the H9 'upgrade' bulbs but hadn't taken the time to mod them to fit and needed lights for a long night drive so just threw in some LEDs I happen to have had on hand.
No prob and have been fine with them. I'd prefer a little warmer color (less blue), but these are okay 'cool white'

My understanding, It's a technical detail of where in the length of the LED pole that the diode is to mirror the filament for the design of the projector. If the LED is too close or far it won't work correctly in the projector, but if the diode is in the right spot they're okay...

LED on pass side, standard H7 left. But there are definitely quality useful LED upgrades for those who dig deeply. the DOT thing is a point to consider.

the cutoff, i think, is very good

The OEM halogens in these rigs - to put it bluntly - suck. Light output is terrible and borderline unsafe compared to our other vehicles. I have Auxito LEDs in mine and they were a perfectly acceptable upgrade over stock. When they die (again - I've had one set of the low-beams crap out) I'll put some Diode Dynamics bulbs in the rig.

@ rednexus,
LOL, yeah compared to MODERN vehicles!

Considering this thing is 17 years old, my stock GX projectors are LEAGUES superior to my Subarus!! 😇
The 03 OBS is pretty good but the GX way exceeds the the 95 leggo, even with the multi-reflector 99OB upgrade!! LOL!!!

The H9s upgrades I have are Hellas, but I just need to find and execute the mod so they work, LOL

My old 2000 Forester, with it's glass headlight lenses, had better high and low beams than my GX470 did stock. Despite them sitting like 2 ft lower :). Our 2014 Outback was also quite a bit better.

Facebook and Reddit are such a delight. I think they look great. If they help you see and help other people see you, that’s what matters.

Started my seat disassembly to try and fix or replace the seat heater. Gonna replace the seat bottom leather while it’s all apart.

Does anyone know what the black electrical component (circled in green) is?

It’s the only piece between two wires. They’re supposed to have continuity, but they don’t. If you zoom in, you can see that it’s kind of bulbous on the end. The entire thing is covered in a rubbery coating. Wondering if it’s some kind of resistor that’s shot?
