Got my coilovers back with HD springs swapped on: awesome!

Got home and found this bolt had been sheared:

Icon is closed. So I cant call them until tomorrow.

stupid question: does this bolt bear any force from the coilover springs, or does it simply hold the upper mount in place?

Would this bolt have been messed with to swap the spring out?

Anyone happen to know the size of the bolt? Looks like icon makes it custom.

😳. I have no knowledge nor advice to offer but will follow. GL

Yesterday was a long ass day.
Aisin timing Belt Kit
Aisin Fan Pulley & Bracket
Gates Serpentine kit
Koyo all Alu rad (bought it last year, so it may have the leak defect some people are getting)
Hayden 699 cooler
Gates large rad hoses w/new OEM clamps
Didn't replace the transmission and radiator lines as I didn't look up the parts and buy them in time but honestly I was beat a the end of the day and couldn't have done much more, I haven't done any job near this complicated and was only able to do it in one day as I had a semi-pro guy leading me through it.

Bolt is not load bearing.

Huge shout out to icon customer support. Called about the bolt, asked if I could buy one and pay to overnight it (need to get the car done by Monday).

Y’all, they hooked me up and sent it overnight for free. Wouldn’t accept a dime.

Was a bear getting that bolt out. It broke too deep in the sleeve for my removal bit to reach it. Ended up using a regular drill bit, going from the bottom, and driving it backwards.

Got the taco tabs installed. No gussets - not optimal. I know. Will see how they treat me.

Coilovers with HD springs installed. New OEM LCA. New lower strut to LCA hardware. A few new sockets to handle the taco tab bolts and nuts.

Up next: mountain passes trans cooler bracket and Hayden 678. Alignment Monday. Trails next weekend!

This work is a lot less fun and a lot more stressful with tight deadlines. Still better than a day at the office.

Just put a set of Icons in my buddy's Tundra this PM. They ride really nice. Different feel than my Foam Cell Pros.

Pic now. JBA UCAs, 2.5" Icon coil overs, Perry Parts bump stops, new LCAs, new CVs, as well. The wheel bearings, tie rod ends, and sway bar end links were shot so we did those too. Also had to cut out the LCA alignment cams. The 1st Gen Tundra front suspension is similar to a 3rd Gen 4Runner and is definitely more difficult to work on than the 120+ platform suspension. The wheel bearings were a PITA and required a press. It rides much nicer than the 21-year old Toyota/Bilstein TRD shocks with a spacer lift.

2003 non-nav. Purchased a pioneer head unit, steering wheel controls, and amp trigger from Crutchfield. Holy convoluted wiring mess with no clear way to eat this elephant! Going to take Crutchfield up on their lifetime technical assistance. I’ve rewired vehicles that were easier than that!!

Today I worked on mounting a passenger side ARB pump mount.

Its just unbelievable to me NO ONE makes this mount for our GXs

I caught one threaded hole on the bottom almost below the filter housing. Made a metal strap and caught another hole top rear.
Now I'm going to do a mighty self tapper and catch outboard forward front, I don't want to get inside the fender and put a nut. Took me a couple weeks to dream it up but looks like it's going to work.

Now I need to begin dreaming up how to hook up to the Switch Pro.. Then airline out to the front bumper.

I used rivnuts for my mount. Not hard to install and allows threaded inserts to be installed anywhere in sheetmetal.

Home made compressor bracket. Stainless steel plate, 3 bolts, rubber inserts. Bolts right in, in front of the air filter housing.

Ordered and installed the Prado 120 black window trim pieces, also upgraded my Phoenix PX6 head unit courtesy of Sergey over at the GXOR Facebook group. This upgrade changes the overall look of the unit, boot screen, wallpaper and on screen controls and also updates the firmware. I was also able to get apple CarPlay to finally work 👍

Installed M6 nutserts like Red suggested, (great idea). Trimmed up the mount to fit and finished mounting the ARB. I couldn't use a nutsert at the forward outboard, as the sheetmetal was uneven where it would land. I resorted to using an existing hole, a nutsert and short stap.

Ran ARB harness across the firewall over to the SwitchPro.
