Swapped with someone who wanted black wheels in the SoCal GXOR Facebook group yesterday. Not sure if he’s on here or not.

Moved the rear diff breather up and out. Nasty dirty job in that back corner where the fuel fill line is..I need to stick a hose in there and wash it out. I'd say dirtiest place on the truck.

Installed a usb/ micro c charging port on the center console.

Thanks for the likes guys. Here's what it looks like in the truck. Theres a switch for turning it on off on the right. My only gripe is backlight color. Today I finally installed fire extinguisher and mount plate. The seat can move full fwd. That extinguisher is the sodium bicarbonate but the purple k one is coming..

Just received my Blue Dog designwerks package, and installed yesterday. After putting on the sliders, there is the front trim piece that needs attention. I’ve read some threads were you cut the oem step and modify to make it work. This product is so much easier and looks pretty good.

Its a bit more $ then a generic one size fits all but I can move the seat full range. I had to trim the seat mount covers.
I might get one of these. I have a small spray-bottle extinguisher buried in the cargo area drawers. Would much rather have a larger extinguisher that is easy to get to. Installing the drawers made the vertical mount I had in the cargo area no longer usable.

Red, I think a 2.5 lb will fit. Plenty of different bracket mount holes too. I put a 1lb purple k because I wasn't sure but, after mounting it I'm pretty sure a bigger one will go. I think your looking for no more then 14" tall 3" round.

I still have that same style of extinguisher from when it was in my cargo area. Will add this to the list.

You know.. probably never have to use it. But there's always that one time when you wish you had it and seconds count. Plus.. I think most organized runs require one.

I had Smiths Offroad in Carrollton TX pull the icon 650 coilovers off and put 700s..adjust to reduce rake to front 1.5" lower then the rear.. installed Overland sway bar links and alignment at garys in dallas..

Rides much better and looks more even..

Oh and btw.. the people over at hot mess grills emailed me.. supposedly the thing is shipped.. well see if it arrives in one piece.. if not then I'd have to wait another 5 months.. for a replacement.. fingers crossed..

Well i know there is always talk of supply chain issues and places can not fill orders fast enough or shipping is delayed....

I want to give an example of a great customer experience!

I placed my order with ASFIR 4x4 for new skids on Sunday 23/05/21 evening..... This arrived TODAY 23/05/25!!...

They are in Israel!

Air freight NO CHARGE! not a special deal or because I had killed my original front skid from them but it was simply a regular order!

The quality of the last one and the look of the new ones was/is great. 1/4" aluminium saves weight and is still plenty strong. Price is cheaper then most other brands... Victory, RCI or Bud Built.

Budbuilt has this to say about Aluminum skid plates and they know what they are talking about. There are Budbuilt skid and rail users that are members of the same LC club i belong to that swear by them. They make stuff strong enough for tanks!

"1/4" (6.35mm) Aluminum Alloy -
Strength without the weight. Our 5052 laser cut aluminum alloy has the same strength levels as our 3/16" steel, but at a faction of the weight. We recommend aluminum where the application sees regular off-roading, yet limited potential for dragging on hard surfaces like rocks. While 1/4" aluminum has the strength to handle heavy rock impacts, it is much more susceptible to galling than steel, when dragged over rocks. Galling results in what looks like fine aluminum shavings by the rock that was dragged down the plate. Another way of thinking about this is by first stating that aluminum has no problem at impacting an obstacle, it's what happens after impact that matters. After impact, if your driving style is to reassess the trail and choose a better line, aluminum is the right choice. If your driving style is to continue on the same line, as in rock crawling applications, we would recommend our 3/16" steel (Rock Armor) systems. Aluminum does not require prepping and repainting impact areas to prevent rust."

Another reason I like them is that the mid plate covers the trans and transfer case in one piece not 2 or so together so less seams and failure points.

I had my old one on for 4 years and it took plenty of abuse. It was also used when i got it from a fellow member and he rode it hard as well. I see no reason for these to not give me the same amount of service if not more!

Yes I am sure I could take a sledge and beat it back into place but I opted for new at this time. I will keep the old and try to fix it but it will be a backup. oh and the notch that was cut out was by the original owner for the KDSS bracket

If you haven't been to their site here is a link to it...

I am not being paid or compensated for this but just a customer that is happy to give a great review for a company handling its business the way it should be done!

I am going to be happy to put their sticker on my board and tell people about the product when asked .... and even when not asked! LOL!

I was going to get the Fuel tank skid but just couldn't swing the extra cost at this time but that is HIGH on the buy list though!

Got some progress on a micro d2s bi-xenon retrofit I've been inching away at. I need to touch up some spots from wrangling it around the lens, have to secure one of the switchback halos, overall I'm eager to finish wiring it and testing/aiming before sealing everything up.

Started on the protection covers. Bolts are an arse to loosen. But with some patience and oil they do come off. Now cleaning, rust prevention and some paint. Trying to keep all the originals on the car.

Dobinson’s rear UCA and LCAs installed along with timbren bump stops.

One surprise: looks like I need to buy new bolts and nuts to attached the brake line bracket to the LCAs. The Dobinson’s have a hole, but it’s not threaded like the stock LCA.

Up next this weekend: oil change, install timbren front bump stops, remove front coilovers to get springs swapped for the HD ones.

After an alignment…I’m done modding and will focus on spending the rest of the year finally hitting trails and camping.
