Hit 200k on the way home from dinner. Only 8k of those miles are mine, but it's a start.............

I think it rides better now with the long travel IMS setup in the rear vs the 5160s I had before. I was a little worried mixing digressively valved front shocks + the progressive rear, but it feels balanced. I don't run a front sway bar, so I think the 6112s help keep things planted on road. The rear is relatively soft now, but I almost never bottom out. Plenty of down travel means the shocks won't quickly turn into metal limit straps.^^^^^ Nice!.... how do you like the the Dobs IMS in the rear with the 6112's up front. My 5160's are to soft on rebound now that I've added weight and mid stiff OME springs.
Got the brackets from TEQ I think. Had to modify them to get my projectors to fit correctly. Nothing major.....but holy hell there's a lot of wiring to get the Morimoto Profyle halos and demon eyes in there along with a small dog light and sequential turn indicator. I've been moving super slow on them. Top many irons in the fire right now. Wish I could post a video to show all the different patterns and colors it throws. It also has a switchback mode for amber turn indicators.@racwerx the headlights look great! Are you using the bi-xenon leds from BXBuilt? Did you fab up your own bracket for the lights?
Modding a set of headlights has been on my to-do list forever. Got all the parts except the projects sitting in my closet taking up space, lol
I have ASFIR aluminum skids that are bare metal and they are just fine. they do look a bit oxidized but I don't know if that's just salt or what but bare aluminum metal forms an oxide layer in atmospheric air almost instantly and won't rust or corrode like iron/steel will. It’s like Christmas in May!
Huge, huge shout out to RCI. I ordered a full set of skids - everything from the filler plate on back - and it got here today! With current lead times due to materials shortages, I cannot believe the turnaround from them.
plan to install them this weekend. One question for the group: any harm in running the bare aluminum skids?
I opted not to powder coat because it seems to chip while in shipping. When researching how to paint bare aluminum, I learned that it’s not quite as easy as painting bare steel, but a lot of folks opt to run the aluminum without any coating.
That’s safe, right?
Dope! Thank you for the info. Figure I’ll run em bare for the UT trip I got next month, and, if I really want to, can send them off for powder coating or something later.I have ASFIR aluminum skids that are bare metal and they are just fine. they do look a bit oxidized but I don't know if that's just salt or what but bare aluminum metal forms an oxide layer in atmospheric air almost instantly and won't rust or corrode like iron/steel will.
