Got the brackets from TEQ I think. Had to modify them to get my projectors to fit correctly. Nothing major.....but holy hell there's a lot of wiring to get the Morimoto Profyle halos and demon eyes in there along with a small dog light and sequential turn indicator. I've been moving super slow on them. Top many irons in the fire right now. Wish I could post a video to show all the different patterns and colors it throws. It also has a switchback mode for amber turn indicators.

I’ll have to check out TEQ for brackets.

Dude, you aren’t kidding about all the wiring, especially trying to get the morimoto switchback halos done up properly.

Definitely understand too many projects going on. Had to go through my list this weekend and temporarily cross off everything that isn’t absolutely required for an upcoming trip.

Excited to see how the lights turn out!

Ran Chinaman's Glutch in near Buena Vista, CO yesterday with my local 4x4 shop for their customer appreciation event. Definitely at the limits of what a mildly built GX can do without lockers. My Sliders, skids, wheels and stock rear bumper took a beating but we were able to negotiate every obstacle without assistance. Impressed some Jeep owner's with it's abilities/Atrac. Big shout out to the Yokohama's sidewalls too, they held up to all kinds of abuse at 15psi!!

I really like how high and tight those sliders are. You happy with them? Can you link them up please and thank you.

DIY 70 inch Marlin Crawler Rock Sliders. We welded them in very tight to the doors. The bottom seals slightly touch them when opening/closing but no clearance issues at all.

just some silliness

They are great quality but if your running a 34” tire or bigger, you’ll most likely need to cut them back some depending on wheel offset.

I'm only on 285/70/17 so no worries. But they're not even close to the tires.

The Slee’s putrude further forward than the body mount. It was a PITA turning, especially turning and reversing. When I first put them on the would rub even on 285/70r17 but that was mostly because of the SCS wheels (-38 offset) the previous owner had.

Here is a pic with a 285/70r17 on stock 4 runner wheels, you can see how close it was even with those that had a bunch of positive offset.

Not sure how you set yours up but mine are nowhere near the tires. I don't think I'd have a problem with 34 or 35s

my mistake, thought Minty was asking me. Android phone notifications got me all messed up hahaha. Sorry for my confusion.

SSO Lil’ Hitch got here today.

Anybody know the torque specs for the 4 bolts?

Reached out to SSO, but they’re closed and I really want to install it this weekend. I think the OEM pintle hitch calls for 65 ft-lbs. not sure if this is the same.

Went to install the sso hitch today, and I either:
- was shipped the wrong part (doubtful)
- ordered the wrong part (more likely)
- am a total idiot (most likely)

Turns out I’m missing something called the “receiver assembly, hitch”.

The sso lil hitch has 4 bolt holes on a plate. There doesn’t appear to be anywhere on my GX rear bumper to attach this hitch.

There’s only 2 bolts on the bottom side of the frame, and they don’t align at all with the bolt holes on the sso hitch.

Also, the other hitches like metal tech all mount with a vertical plate.

Any thoughts? I’m at a complete loss here…the product description says it’s supposed to bolt on.

I think someone at sso screwed up. Unless you only want 2 bolts mounting that. There website shows it mounted to a GX too. Doesn’t make since. Definitely would not tow anything with that! I would try contacting them and see what they say.

Will give them a call Monday. I’m confused because I’ve seen this hitch recommended in a handful of threads here, and, like you said, they’ve got pictures of it on a GX.

May be a stupid question, but did the frame behind the bumper change at all across the years for the GX?

Looks like you are missing this piece that the oem hitch would also bolt up to:

I definitely would not run the SSO hitch without this part. More information in this thread: 2008 GX470 Receiver Hitch - why is this so hard to find? - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/2008-gx470-receiver-hitch-why-is-this-so-hard-to-find.912778/

Hm, damn, I haven’t even come across that as a part while searching for a hitch. I definitely do not have that part. Is that welded and bolted to the bumper bar? I’m not even sure what to search for to get that.

The OEM hitch bolts up to mine, I think. If you look at the OEM and metal tech, they have a vertical mounting plate with 4 holes and a horizontal with 2. Those holes line up with the ones on my frame rail.
