Hammered back the pinch seams and did a little different version of the body mount chop in preparation for my 285/75r17 tires. I cut a pie slice looking piece of the body mount, then hammered the remaining front section back. Once the tires are on and I check the clearance, I will weld up the seam and put some fresh pain on. Right now the body mount is flush with the rest of the well well vs poking out about 3/4" or so before the chop.

Out with the 32" Duratracs on OEM wheels, in with the 34" Open Country AT3s on Tandem 612 Charlies.

Looks great!
How much of a performance hit did you take? Not as concerned with MPG, but perceived engine power...
Torque down low etc.
Are you hunting for gears more, or more sluggish from a start?
Any idea the total weight/corner, vs your old set-up?
Thanks

I just got them on this afternoon, so I have no idea what my mpg will look like. Maybe my butt dyno isn't refined enough to pick up on the difference given my driving style, but it feels pretty much the same as before. When I went from stock to the Duratracs, there was a very noticeable difference; not so much with the 32s up to 34s. Total weight per corner went from 67 lbs up to 82 lbs with the C load AT3s.

Which ones? The aftermarket or OEM? If OEM, how many does $16 get you?
The EZYKOO ones are the clips that insert. The Toyota ones are to secure the plastic covers against the firewall. So I bought both.

That looks great. Can you give details on wiring it up?
This is the unit I bought.

I didn't take any photos during install, but once you get the ashtray and cig lighter trim pulled out of the center console you'll see the cig wiring harness ends in a 1/4" and 3/16" female spade connector/quick disconnect thing. I already had quick disconnects in those sizes from a wiring job in my miata, but you can get them at napa or autozone for a few bucks. Then just crimp the male connectors onto the USB wiring harness (the 3/16 was 12v and 1/4 was ground for me), plug it together, and reassemble the trim pieces.

The cleanest way would probably be to salvage the connector from the AUX accessory, and figure out which wires are 12v/gnd in the existing harness for it. I'll probably go back and do it this way if the quick disconnects come loose or I pull the center console apart again. A bonus of doing it this way is not needing to pull any trim pieces.
