Happy 4th to everyone!
Just completed the windshield install on my resto mod project. The glass can be done as a one man install

This last week I had a few parts come in from Iron Man 4x4 and @NLXTACY I got my 30mm spacers from Iron Man and then I got my ABS delete plugs, as well as a fusible link to just have in case mine, goes out.

Yesterday polished up the fog light lenses. Forgot the before but quite hazy. Not perfect now but I'd say an 87% improvement. Used a Meguiars 1 step kit that also included little sanding pads.

Today changed the rear diff fluid (turns out didn't need to as it looked nearly new. Didn't see note of it in PO records). Oh well now I know. Now do I do xfer case and front diff?!?

Check your spark plugs folks (100 owners)

Finally got around to checking my spark plugs after seeing a thread in the 100 series forum about them loosening up on their own. My spark plugs we're changed by the PO at 130k miles, and I'm at a little shy of 165k.

1,3,5, & 7 were tight with no issues. 2 & 8 were the same. The coil on #4 looked like some ignition gases were getting past the plug, but the coil and boot were fine. #6 was loose, and the boot on the coil was brown and cracked easily. Luckily, @medtro came to the rescue with a spare boot, and helped me button everything back up. Torqued the plugs back to 18 ft lbs. Should be good for another 30k.

Took a huge leap forward on my project yesterday by installing the roof cap onto the side panels. The job seemed daunting beforehand. With the help of a couple other cruiser heads and my wife, it was a painless and quick process. Much thank you to @40SeriesBen and @MattmustoAZ. I used all new OEM gaskets. Opted to not use the factory headliner this go around and sprayed in Lizard Skin thermal barrier instead. This came out so great! Seeing the truck come together has given me more momentum to get wrenching.

It's that time! AHC suspension was done with in my 99 LX470 and Christmas came early this year. TJM T17 bumper, Dobinsons 1.5" HD lift and 285/75/16 AT tires. All new front bushings and hub bearings. Luckily, I did not have to swap control arms to adjustable one's with this lift because alignment was borderline, but within spec. Love the bumper! Fitment on a LX is slightly more challenging than installing on a LC. Dobinsons HD lift is stiff, which is exactly what I was looking for. Dobsinons drawer system is in the mail and will help weigh down the rear. Factory matching paint from touchupdirect.com(4 coats of base & midcoat and 2 coats of clear). Took two full weekends to paint, install, replace bushings

and remove AHC system.

Made an addition to my storage in the cargo area. I was never really happy with storing my ladder upright next to the window. Too many straps to secure it. I really liked how I stored my table, and the ladder for my roof top tent fit perfectly in the space between my table and compressor. Now I don't need any straps. Shaved a whole 30 seconds off my deployment time.

Nice!

Checked my brake wear on the Taco while rotating tires.

I am on the second set of pads & shoes. I can't recall when I changed these, but both sets of rear shoes and driver rear drum were changed due to a broken spring in the rear driver assembly about 100,000 miles ago, not due to wear. I changed the front pads when one of the wear indicator started making noise - probably around 50,000 miles ago.

I grew up changing riveted shoes and my eyes are still calibrated to them. When I pulled the passenger rear drum I was shocked at how thin the shoes were and just knew I had to replace them. I got my calipers out and measured them - turns out they have lots of life left in them. The driver's side was worn down even more.

Toyota spec is 1.0 MM on both the shoes and the front pads, so I have nothing to worry about yet, but I think I'll change the rear shoes and turn the drums in the next 20,000 or 30,000 miles anyway.

Odd that the driver's side shoes & pads are ~1 MM thinner than the passenger side. Each pad on each front wheel have even wear, as do the rear shoes, but they definitely wear more on the driver side.

160,743 miles - second set of shoes & pads
Driver front 2.80 MM
Passenger front 3.64 MM
Driver rear 2.63 MM
Passenger rear 3.17 MM

Nice job. I had a full set of Visio documents trying to determine the best layout for exactly the same 2 problem children when I was going with a platform system in the back. Well executed!

Finally finished up my 95 axle rebuild. 4.88's and arb's replaced the elockers, all new Toyota bearings, seals, tre's and bushings. Stainless brake lines, power stop brakes, nitro hd birfs, chromoly hub gears/aisin hubs, .250 wall adjustable rear links with factory bushing on one side and JJ on the other, Delta ph bracket, arp studs all around and front diff armor. Drives great now, but the clean axles make the rest of the truck look like crap - working on that next.

Also gave my wife's v8 4th gen some love - camburg uniball uca's, new energy lca bushings, fj revolver wheels, 255/80/17 st maxx's and 4xinnovations sliders. The Fj wheels widened the stance a bit, and the narrower tires upped gas mileage a notable amount - getting 22 hwy now and no more rubbing tires. Top pic is before.
