Does this setup remove the fuel/exhaust smell I get when I pull into my garage? Expensive?
It burns off most of the raw gas fumes. Youll need to make sure your truck isn't running crazy rich first otherwise will burn up the cats over time. It costs a few bucks but worth it imo, check with a good muffler shop(s) down there in the Old Pueblo and get a quote or two to get an idea.

Four day cruise along the border country. Booming flowers, big rains and more than 100 species of birds. What a great time of year in the desert.

It almost completely knocks it out with very little fuel smell left, very happy I did it. Not expensive at all, the flowmaster cats were 60 each and clamps were 12 each. Wife happy... priceless.

I swapped out the way too firm mattress that came with my Alu-Cab tent. I slept in my tent to try out the mattress not too long after getting it and decided there was no way the stock mattress was going to work for me. On the February ROTM to Monument Valley, I used an Exped Megamat on top of the stock mattress. That was great, and the mattress fit in the closed tent with my bedding, but it was a tight fit. I also didn't want to have to fiddle with the inflation on the Exped.

The stock mattress is a 3 inch hard density poly foam. I bought a 3 inch Full XL medium density latex foam mattress topper from Sleep On Latex. I tested out the latex mattress by putting it on the slate floor in my house. I slept really well with no aches and pains. If it hadn't worked, Sleep on Latex has a free return policy and they'll even ship you a bigger box for the expanded mattress. There's no way it's going in the original box once you unwrap it.

I trimmed it to fit the stock mattress cover. A Full XL is just a few inches wider and a few inches shorter than the stock mattress. I also wrapped the latex mattress in a water proof mattress protector from Wal-Mart and slid it into the stock mattress cover. I got it back into the tent, and other than being just a couple inches shorter than the stock mattress, it's a perfect fit. Looking forward to the next overnight run.

@Saddletramp helped (i.e. did most of the work) me modify my Gamiviti roof brackets to lower my roof top tent. We were able to drop it almost an inch and a half, which made it even lower than it sat before I added the load bars. I'm a lot happier with how it sits now.

Before we added the load bars, which are about 3/4 inch thick:

After modifying with load bars:

Hopefully that will tide me over until I can afford some BP51s 🤪

Next I drove out to White Knuckle Off-Road in Apple Valley CA and picked up a set of sliders for the 100.

Well, I finally got off my ass and did the rear shelf DIY. I did the hose clamp method but will be upgrading to the @Delta VS brackets. Installing the rear shelf by yourself was a pain but I eventually got smart and supported it with a 2x4 while I attached the hose clamps.

From the above pictures, you can see my spare is in the main compartment now. When I was at Discount Tire last time to get the tires rotated I asked them to try and remove the spare but they were unable to. So I also got around to removing the rear spare tire by unbolting the cross member and the brackets from the frame.

Lastly and most importantly the wife and I went to Prescott to see some dogs and learn about the Belgian Malinois which will be our next dog. Mainly as a service animal for me. While up there we stopped at Barn Star Brewing in Skull Valley. It is run by a husband and wife on their small farm. It is only open during the weekend as they brew the beer during the week. Beers run about 5 for a small mason jar and are definitely worth it.

We also took our little guy and he met some ponies/little horses.

This past Wednesday night was this year’s last super moon so I took advantage and hit my local mountain top in Carefree. Didnt say anything because I made my decision to go at 10PM.:grinpimp: Rain all night, a true gift in a poptop only to wake to clear sunny skies. Makes for a great start.

Came out nice if you like blue:flipoff2:

Need a front bumper to match the rear:hmm:
Working on an idea for the front bumper now. Selling the ARB. You wish your cruiser was as sexy as mine!
