Troopy YT Thumbnail v5.webp

After about 2.5 years of work, we just wrapped up a full build on a 1995 Land Cruiser Troop Carrier and finally put together a complete walkthrough video.

This build was designed as a full international expedition vehicle with the goal of running the Pan-American Highway.

We went pretty deep on this one — suspension, armor, drivetrain, interior, electrical — the whole thing.

Would love to hear what you guys think and what you’d do differently. Video Link below!

This is not a What did I do to my LC, but a What did I do for my LC.
Today I ordered a complete compressor assembly (compressor, clutch and pulley) for my PZJ75 from JDM Restoration of Australia & Japan.
The compressors from Amayama, PartsOUQ and a few others only sell the compressor; the clutch and pulley have to be ordered or swapped over.
When I return to the Philippines I will bring the part with me to install.

Installed some sound dampening on the roof of the 75. Dog wanted to photo-bomb the picture as technically this is her truck. Had a bit of a struggle with the headliner and hoping to recover…. I really don’t get along with glue….

Also installed a nice new factory windshield

Lastly, ordered these from @TRAIL TAILOR and just received the appropriate fasteners to get them installed..

Tightened some belts, rotated the tires, checked the fluids, replaced a turn signal bulb, fixed the license plate wire that got smashed by the tire guys, and hit the road.

Holler if you see a crusty ol troopy bombing down the highway. Roughly following 80-70-50 to the coast.

After cleaning up the rear bed's rust and holes, got the old hardwood floor refurbished and reinstalled. It's been a bit of a journey, since this also included replacing all the old body mounts, snapping one of those bolts and having to drill it out of the frame (good times), and in general a lot of finicky, never to be seen but much appreciated by those who did it work. This kind of stuff may seem routine elsewhere but her in rural Panama this kind of work in an old vehicle can be... challenging. I'm blessed to have a buddy mechanic with pit bull tenacity for solving problems.

Beautiful area, looks like it was a great trip!

Our western public lands are under constant threat of development and loss of use to the recreational user. There is a current plan to revoke the protection of the greater Chaco Region, near the Chaco Culture National Historical Park, New Mexico, to open it up for oil and gas leasing.

Public comment on the issue ends tomorrow- anyone interested in protecting their rights to BLM land access can learn more here:

And if concerned, one can comment at the BLM website here:

Thank you for raising awareness and posting these links, much appreciated. I would go as far to say our eastern public lands are suffering the same issues, just not as well socialized. In my area, numerous new gates have appeared on public lands with little to no due process.
