Here's my cruiser. I lost the right rear trim piece, and ordered a replacement. But they didn't come in any color that looked like the trim does below. Further complicating things, my VIN number says my truck is Natural White, which it is clearly not, who knows why.

It looks like the trim is painted with the same as the body. Is this the Champagne Beige?

I have gotten my touch up paint from paintscratch.com the website walks you through what colors are available for your model year and where to find the paint code.

It's not cheap, but has worked well for me, including a full bumper repaint.

i'm gonna be totally honest, i've never seen this color combination before. maybe it was repainted at some point?

My natural white has a tan bottom, if you look at my post history, i have pictures of the paint codes for both the body and trim.

Check the tag on the driver door jamb. Should be a color code there.

The door jam sticker says the truck is Natural White. That was the first thing I checked, a long time ago.

Then it's repainted at some point.

that's what I'm realizing. But if it was they did a good job, all of the painted metal is the same tan color, it would have had to be a full strip down, interior out, engine out, complete frame off repaint. There's no white anywhere.

maybe it's the Lexus color, Cashmere Beige Metallic (4M9)?

but HOW?

I just got off the phone with my uncle, who had it before me, and he confirmed that when he tore out the interior to replace the carpet a few years ago it was tan from stem to stern, factory dipped.

Pin striping and color looks the same as mine, which is sonora gold.

Does the VIN on the door sticker match the VIN found elsewhere on the vehicle?

Was at the dealership today to get an estimate on repairing the bumper, and had 3 Toyota collision techs sniffing around the truck trying to explain the color. No luck, and none of them could find any evidence that it wasn’t a factory paint job.

Went to Autozone to compare with some rattle can lids. Paint looks really close to the Toyota Desert Sand Mica, but a little lighter, which could maybe just be age?

I wonder if the color would come out lighter or darker than the can cap once it’s on the piece.

Wow, that's really unusual. Vins match on all panels, windows, engine and sticker?!

Your shade of tan is unlike anything I've seen before. Very unusual.

It may be two codes separated by a slash on the door code. To me I suspect the trim pieces were painted at some point due to fading. If it has a white color code then it just has to be a repaint. The wheels are not original which indicates someone at some point “slicked” it up a bit.

Toyota should be able to pull the vin history and find out what color it was built with.

nope. I've been through all of that. VIN codes read white. When I pull it up in the Toyota system it reads white. My uncle did the wheels just a few years ago, it was already tan when he got it.

I'm not ruling out a repaint. But if it was, the owner at the time shelled out some SERIOUS coin for it, because there isn't an inch of white paint anywhere inside or out. The painted metal behind the dash, under the carpet, in the engine bay, and under the body is all tan. Only way they could have done it is with a full strip down, frame off repaint.
