Right now my oldest son (9) has standard 20" bmx bike, but I think I'm going to get him a used mountain bike. Something with a smaller frame and 26" wheels. I was looking at a bad ass bike for him, but then I thought "why does he get a better bike than me?!"

Saturday I'm looking at a Trek 3700 for $100. It looks good in the pics.

My 2.5 year old rides a wooden "walking bike". No pedals, no training wheels.

I wonder why the google pop up add is about BYU?

Bikes maybe?

10 year old dottir rides a Specialized HotRock.

14 year old dottir rides a fancy Trek, 5800 maybe, I forget

both of them are on norcos.

Dept. store all the way for the 8, 7, and 5 year olds. Although I have a Gary Fisher 20" MTB waiting for the oldest one.

My son (age six) rides my wife's adult Diamondback mountainbike. It's small - she's 5'3" - but he only rides his kid-sized bmx bike when she rides hers.

Granted, he's been riding a two-wheeler (never had training wheels) since his 4th birthday.

mine too
the girl had training wheels, but got up on her fourth birthday and was convinced that she no longer needed them, so I took them off, and she's been riding on two wheels ever since

That Trek Trikester is the bomb-diggity. The bad part about that trike is that with those big wheels they can really get cruising... and you'll have to jog/run to keep up. (I'm fat and lazy, so I tie a cinder block to the seat post with a 10' rope).

Shahram, I've heard those are awesome for them bring able to easily learn to ride a bigger bike without training wheels. Wish we'd gone that route instead of a trike, cause I'm in "riding without training wheels" hell right now.

My ten year old boy rides a 13" frame Trek 4300. He bought it last year (most of his own money). The 26" wheels sure help him keep up on the trails.

My 8 year old daughter has a 20" pacific mtb style bike, which is now upgraded with vbrakes and better drivetrain

I want to be 8 years old
