looks good

Looks good what is the spring combo? I am running 285 BFG AT with OME 861/862 but will be switching to used J springs soon.

850/863, with the soft shocks. the rear is getting a bumper here soon. once that is finished i'm going to think about shimming the front up to get rid of some of the stinkbuggery.

started on the rear bumper sunday morning, and then ran out of shielding gas.

Send it to Jim Chenoweth.

Great job on rebuilds, search his name on mud for more endorsements.

Can anyone tell me where I can get a rebuild kit for my 72 F engine carb or buy a carb?

where about palmyra are you?
you have that dark blue one on west cherry?
i probably have an f carb or two laying around, but it would need over hauled any how.

Here is what I am working on at the moment. When I originally built my cage, I was in a hurry since EC4RJ was a day or two away, so I made some compromises with the rear section of the cage and tied it into the stock bar. I never liked it so it is time to change it up. Picked up some 1.75" DOM and I am now ready to start. Last night I started with this.

Two hours later I ended the night with this.

Doesn't look like I did much, but I also have my cage foot plates installed and am ready to start the mockup.

Plan is to have a verticle C-Pillar behind the rear seats with a D-Pillar angles down at the back of the body. To tie the two sides together, I may just go with a simple straight tube or go with a halo type tube with two kickers. Bending will start this Sunday.

We recently picked up this 89 pickup for stupid cheap, but it needs a little bit of TLC here and there.

Plan is to get it back on the road and use it as a hauler with the eventual plan to maybe swap some parts into it. Also hoping to finally tear into the FJ40 fo rthe engine and transmission swap since the transmission finally came back from the rebuild shop. Going to be a busy winter.

Nice grab

White P/U looks good. That is one of my favorite years, and of course an '85 like the one at the end of the movie Back to the Future!

Thanks, we tore a ton of janky wiring out of it that the PO had installed including an aftermarket cruise control setup, wiper delay controller, trailer harness, and cleaned up the light harness a bit. My dad got the body work about 80% done, just need to do the final knock down on the filler and hit it with paint. We also picked up a cap for it that the PO had, which is in excellent condition.

Also got the tubing bent up in the morning for the 4 Runner. Finished up the frame mounting plates and started to set the tubes in place. Got the main structure tacked in as well. One issue I am running into is that my original cage is made from .120" wall tubing, but the tube I am using for the new section is .125" wall so I can't use the same inner tube sleeve that I normally use, which would be 1.5" DOM.

I have some 1.5" x .25" DOM left over from my steering linkage that I am going to have half turned down to fit in the 1.75" x .125" DOM that I am using. Once I get them turned down, I can fully weld everything out. I have about 7-8 more tubes to install, but this is how I left it at the end of the day yesterday.

I am working on this 91 80 with OME suspension, 38 TSl's, welded rear, all seven seats and lots of character in the sheetmetal :)

I am happy it is in working order and is not rusty plus it has all the seats which makes it useful around our place.

Not sure what I am going to do with it but it is fun to iron out the little issues it has and trim the fenders et cetera

Looks like a fun project Jeff. Plenty of room for the family too :)

No coincidence our fourth is due in June :)

I am thinking the rig is nearly perfect for mild to somewhat wild wheeling considering every panel is dented. My cousin owned and used if for many years and before that a good friend bought it, bringing it into our circle. It was just too hard to pass up considering the coils and stoutness of the FJ80 not to mention the seating. It will be making it up to PA in August, I recently got a tow rig so I am enabled :steer:

Congrats on the next addition. Defiantely let me know when you are going to be in PA - maybe we can get together.

Working on the 40

Lots happening, cruiser wise- as usual. Getting the top ready for my 40- sides are rust repaired and painted with glass installed. New WS frame and windshield. Top has been painted and will be bolted on today. Amby doors are done and installed. I do need to pick up some parts from CCOT to reassemble my front doors- should have them ordered today if all goes well. I'll have the top done and installed just i time to remove it for wheeling season.

I also bought a new set of tires for the 40, a set of 35" Goodyear MTR's. They'll be more street friendly and good enough for the style mof wheeling I do. Taking the 36" IROKs off wasn'tyt an easy choice but I figure I'll like the MTR's better.

Pulled a brown 60 apart and am trying to get JT to take the carcass! I have a blurb on the vehicles for sale section of Mud for a taker. I just brought home another brown FJ60 yesterday- OME lift, ARB bumper and winch, mud terrains, and it has a 2F with head and fiuel injection from a 3FE. Runs great it's a good combo.

That's my update, put a blurb on here to let people know what, if anything, you're up to. Gary S

Added two photos of the 40 with the refurbished top. Compare the MTR's on the truck to the spare- a bit smaller but they should be a great street/wheeling combo. My parts arrived yesterday from CCOT so i am hoping by Monday to have the doors reassembled and on the truck- at which time I hope to drive it home. Gary

It's been a busy few months and I haven't worked on the 40 much. I'm in the process of tying my cage into the frame. I'm also waiting on my beadlocks to arrive. I'll be picking up my new trailer next month and will be ready to wheel.

What is the plan for the new one?
I could be talked into the front bumper, and possibly the winch.
