Worked on the project fluffy a little more the other day, trying to get some electrical things figured out (and clean out the garage so I can pull the 4Runner in for the manual trans swap)
Started Here (google drive links so everyone can see them hopefully):

Previous owner decided to do there own stereo install and botched it up really good...
Decided to get a little creative since finding someone willing to get a fuse block out of a part out was not worth any more of my time:

I did a timing belt on my 06 Honda Ridgeline this weekend. I forgot how tight the crank bolts get. Has that "jam a screwdriver in the teeth of the fly wheel" ever worked for anyone? I ended up unpluggng the efi and cranking the starter with a braker bar against the lca. I should of known better when I saw what a pita the rear sway ar endings were to change. Honda builds a dependable car but I think I'm done working on them.:bang: they had the motor mount bolted to the water pump for God's sake.

Ha, those are way easy compared to most timing belts. I just did my father in laws a few weeks ago. I’m sure doing it for a living helps, but the Honda’s are like working on a toilet compared to the German junk I’m familiar with.

I'm to t belts on a v6 Mazda mx3 a 22re in my 4 runner and now the ridgeline. The ridgeline has been the hardest but gone the fastest.

Cityracer llc comes through with another oem non usa carb.
Just a tick over an hour from the first wrench to firing it back up.

Local shop in columbia.
This is the head off the engine i got from you.
Everything seemed to be in good shape so i decided to pull it apart and massage it a little.
This is for the '75.
Keep me in mind if you get another 60 in stock. Ill be in market for a late 2F to play with.

Had a really cool 4Runner in today for inspection and it had a full total chaos/king long travel kit. Owner was super nice/friendly and is also one of the organizers of the FJ Summit. Gave him a card and told him he should come hang out. Drool worthy pics.

@dci blair are you getting ideas?

IF I spend that kind of coin I’m going sas. Once the FJ is off daily duty that’s my goal. The cost of long travel vs sas is almost the same, just more labor involved in sas. I’ve got all the tooling i need at my shop to do it, just would need guidance of someone that’s done it before. Aka you.

Figured id throw my fresh head on my old block.
Salted roads means its going to be parked a while anyway.
I suffer horribly from mission creep.
Going to replace motor mounts, clutch kit and re seal the oe trans and transfer that came with the 75. Current drive train is from a 77 no differences between the two other than the early 75 transfer having the lower low range(not that it matters in my case).
