It wheels great too!
That 6th gear is awesome.

Ah yes the good ol extra low gear. The transmission is a 5 speed with an extra low gear only available while in 4wd making it a 6 speed. So while in front wheel drive only you have 5 forward gears but when you engage 4wd it allows the shifter to be put in EL (extra low).

I can’t wait to see this thing cross the Barrett Jackson auction block with those type records. That is if you don’t roll her while utilizing that EL gear over on Slab Pile...

There is a corolla all trac wagon for sale near one of Andrea's work sites.... every time I drive by it I think of this thread.... I may have bought it if it wasn't an auto

One of those popped up in Winston-Salem right after I bought the Tercel. It was an automatic as well if I’m remembering it right. Stupid clean though and a really cool little car.

yeah i'm starting to look for an AWD car as our second car and the cruiser as the first car with all the mountain driving we do we pretty much have snow there from october to july in some parts. But looking on the cheap side. Only thing I want is a stick in it, but andrea wants it to look nice. She says Audi... I don't really want another thing from VAG but I have always liked the way audis look and we have found a ton of A8's around here for dirt cheap and those are fairly easy to swap a 6 speed in to.

I'm still holding out for an all-trac celica showing up for the right price though.....little rally car woot

This place down the street from me is always getting very unique rare euro and asian cars, lots of AWD ones to boot..... I went and test drove that typhoon in the back of the picture and almost did a crazy thing and financed a Lancia Delta AWD.... but my cheapness prevailed... LOL

would have worked better if I included the picture

I had a chance to buy a syclone that had been stolen from the dealer and joyrode til the motor and tranny went. about 500 miles on the odo. very hard miles. gm replaced motor, turbo, and trans, as well as the rest of the drivetrain. If it would have been a typhoon, I would have done it. they couldn't sell it as new, and even with all the repair work, was still worth too much to be totalled.

Lift it, throw some ATs on it and you are set for URE;)

LOL The only things holding my Tercel together are rust and good intentions! So I doubt it will see URE other than me driving it down to camp or something. Believe me I’ve thought about lifting it. Trouble is according to the 4wd Tercel forum(yes there really is one) they are pretty easy to lift but if you do a lot of driving you’ll really shorten cv life by a lot. I drive the hell out of this thing going to work and back.

Some things should be left alone and used for the purpose it was purchased :)

Totally agree Stan. As much as I’d like to do something cool with it, I bought it to DD during the winter and save the 80 from the road salt and save a bunch on gas.

Dude, if your wife says some crazy dude was waving at me in downtown Madison, it was just me. thought you were driving the 80 home from work today LOL

Haha! Yeah she was driving the 80 today. Just asked her and she said “yeah I did notice someone waving on my home”
