I wrecked my 80 yesterday. Was totally my fault, and thankfully no one was hurt. This is the first time I've wrecked a vehicle, and never tried to repair something like this. The damage isn’t terrible, I drove it home which was 40 minutes away. I know I’ll need a drivers front fender, grill, headlight, all of the light mounting trim, whatever that panel is under the grill, and some frame repair. The steering wheel was a quarter turn to the right the whole way home. Anyone have any advice? I suppose my other option is to cash out and try to find another one, this is the less desirable option.

The worst part is I was on my way to pick up $450 in parts from the dealership.

Whatv did you hit? We need juicy details!
Looks like it had no bumper on it?

Take a careful look at the frame, this is probably the biggest difficulty, if it's bent beyond just the horns at the front, it probably starts getting expensive.

The 1/4 turn on the steering wheel is most likely due to a twisted sector shaft at the bottom of the steering box. Post a picture of the splines in the gap they should look straight, not angled.

This looks repairable by someone with reasonable skills. Sourcing all the small parts will add up fast. And things like regassing the AC system is its compromised.

Also, there'll be things that have been tweaked that may not be immediately obvious. As you put things back together, you'll find all these tweaked parts. Things like the hood. Looks OK in your pics, but that hit may have been enough to tweak the latch, or the hinges, or the hood itself

I think things like this come down to how invested you are in THAT 80? In terms of sentimentality, money, baselining status, overall condition etc

The decision may not make sense in dollar terms, but scrapping an 80 you're attached too might not make sense either.
I've scrapped two landcruisers for different reasons, and regretted both many times. Reality at the time was the repairs required weren't feasible for me at the time.

That would be like dumping a supermodel because she had a bad hair day. Superficial issues.

Afterwards you might get mad thinking about the next guy that fixed it and is driving it around with a big smile.

If it drives straight without leaks, definitely fix. You might be able to get by without replacing the fender.

Defiantly fix that. Really doesn't look to bad. I had a fender bender like this in the first car I ever bought, and sold it because it freaked me out and seamed like more than I could handle at the time. Looking back, it would have been an easy fix, and I am still kicking my self that I dumped it.
Probably obvious in hind sight, and annoying for people to point out now, but a bumper would probobly have saved you from basically all of this damage.

I think I’ll be repairing. I will be checking those splines this week, and I’ll be on the look out for green body panels. Like I said it was my fault completely, I ran into the lady in front of me. This is the first accident I’ve ever been at fault and I feel terrible about it.

Couple of people to contact for parts are @slow95z and @mstocks. Both are in GA.

I have some of that, maybe all of it. I am not willing to ship large items so it would be pickup only.

Most difficult part to obtain, IME, is the headlamp assembly but if you check fleabay there's often aftermarket (DEPO) headlamps, turn signal lamps, and front corner lamps available somewhere in the World. The body panels etc you can find from people parting out wrecks (Parting Out section of Classifieds) and Auto Salvage yards (see slow95z above)

I don’t know the Us market well anymore as I’ve been out of the country since the pandemic, but I have purchased from Nayab Albar on his Landcruiser FB page for the UK and Ireland, and he is a reputable seller. He has quad headlamp assemblies in stock that may interest you.

Search for Toyota Landcruiser Source UK, Ireland, and Europe on FB.

I put in a request to join the group, will the quads swap into the US models easily? I always like those headlights

Where in SE ?

Parting mine now but most of those needed parts were affected.

The front end of these really do bolt back together pretty easy. Inner and outer fenders bolt to firewall. I’ve done it before. Run I high clearance bumper and you can ditch the valance under grill.

Biggest thing is check frame as mentioned. Part of me wished I explored this option but my whole body shifted on frame. Every body mount is torn and tweaked.
