Hoping to take the plunge on a trailer this year. Most of the trailers i look at need new floors. I have found a m100 though but tail end has been cut off. 1st question is will a stick welder be enough to weld a floor in? I am not going to spend 500+ on something i will not use that much when trollhole is 30 minutes down the road. Only other thing i realistically will use it for is rear sliders. I will not build my own

Rear bumper when people like ncfj are just up the road as well. I have free access to a stick welder but if it will not do it i am willing to move up .

Well I will be learning as i go.

Flux cores are pretty cheap now, guess I'll go with that

Marshall is correct, go with a MIG. Make sure that you get a MIG machine that is 220 and also capable of using gas. You will be better off in the long run as the 110 only machines are just not powerfull enough to get decent penetration on anything over 3/16". The learning curve is easier with MIG over stick as well.

I bid on a trailer on government liquidation but have been out bid. Watching it to see what they are going for. Ends in 8 hrs but current only at $240. Gonna let this one go until i can get my hitch installed on my 60.

I know but s 101 is do able. Not a 105 though. Trailer would rarely make it off road for camping. Wife and kids will never see black balsam. Well kids may when they get older.
