I got about half an inch here between Asheville and Hendersonville. To bad I'm stuck at work or I would definitely be out looking for some snow wheelin.

Snowing pretty good here on the coast. We have about an inch in New Bern and some of the areas slightly west of here have a couple of inches.

Here in the RDU area...

It snowed enough in Florence today to close the schools...Of course it only takes someone saying SNOW! for that to happen.....:)

A good dusting yet the roads were clear. The kids had fun too, but it did not last long. At least not as long as the BIG ONE in 1974 , huh ocd?

we had a huge amount of snow in 1989 around Christmas I remember...I was in Florida and we got 4 inches in Fort Walton Beach...my inlaws got like 6 inches outside of Charleston.....and Uncle in Columbia got about the same he said.
Myrtle Beach even had some snow.... did Florence boycott that event...LOL:popcorn:

going west on I-10 the Highway Patrol had to walk along side the cars cuz the ice was so thick in the Florida panhandle on the bridges........took them 18 hours to drive from Charleston to FWB that year. :(

That was Jan 88 - I had just transferred from patrol to traffic division and had to park my motorcycle for a few days, bummer. But that still did not compare to the BIG ONE.

naw you got it confused...I returned from 5 years in amsterdam in april 89....then there was Hugo sep 89....then the biggest snow of the south dec 89 as my inlaws came to see our baby for first time.....

but i know myrtle beach area does their own thing with state laws so not out of reason they would have their own weather machine....LOL

talk to you soon....:D :D

Ok, Ok, I will concede to the next biggest snow being in 1989. But you are confused/mistaken about another fact.

Your in-laws came to see my baby.:whoops:

:bang::hillbilly:"My front teeth."

Did you run into Vincent Vega while "cruising" Amsterdam?

I remember that snow. My parents rented a house on Kiawah Island for christmas. We drove down and when we got to Columbia it started snowing. By the time we got to the house there was 6 inches of snow. All the pipes were frozen and busted and the heat pump was frozen. Had the best time down there as I had my little 4x4 truck with me. Greenville saw no snow. How ironic. Very rare to see snow at the beach. Especially 6 inches of it.
