Ordered the 470154. Really appreciate you putting this together. Going on top of my Troopy. I does have rack. Thought I'd mount the antenna on the rear to elevate when the top is raised. Anyone have a suggestion on a mounting bracket? Ideally I'd like to be able to lower it easily when needed.

Here are some brackets made for round tubing. . .they're marketed as awning brackets but maybe you could re-purpose one.

I finally turned it on for the first time last night and did not notice any differences during the stream. My first thought was I set it up wrong/user error.

Then I followed these instructions to view the decibel reading feature on the iPhone, which allowed me to verify there is about a 30 dB difference when the phone is right next to the inside antenna versus a couple feet away; We are talking within 3 inches. Will try the drive to Cookout again tonight with inside antenna on top of phone and see if we can make it through the whole trip without the stream losing feed in some areas.
I also set up a macro to automate my speed tests, so as soon as I am setup/plugged into shore power for the weekend, I will begin a series of hundreds/thousands of live speed tests; this time showing both Boosted and unBoosted speeds.

Holy smokes, I just now saw this and put it together why your name looked so familiar; the 70s forum duh!!! We got a legend in the house boys.

Thanks for answer that @catastrofe.

I think if you got the OTR kit that it comes with a mount that just clamps onto round bars from aftermarket racks. About 2 mins 40 seconds into the video is the mounting bracket that is included in the OTR kit. The magnetic kits do not have them

Also, I rerouted my wire through the back because of wind resistance. They even recommend it in manual, and I just need to learn to listen to the experts and do it right the first time!

Update: I am waiting on a new car battery and a trickle charger (My parents will order Monday for me) so that I can run the cell Booster with the engine off. I postponed the speed test streams til then. It’s long overdue as my car will not start after 30 mins parked sometimes now, and dealer did recommend battery replacement 10 months ago. If anyone finds a way to run these (drive reach) off AC power let me know; I assume there is an adapter that works.

For some reason the Booster won’t run off my Jackery 160 via 12V, and will only come on when plugged into Car. Someone else test your battery bank please and confirm for me. I may need to look into a bigger battery bank that can run the booster. It’s strange because the Jackery 160 can output quite a bit; just has slow input/recharge rate.

Anyone having any luck getting a signal boost? So far I'm getting a green light on my unit, but zero apparent signal boost. I've driven to several spots with marginal signal and monitored my dB readings on my phone with the unit turned on and off. I followed the installation instructions with regards to antenna placement. I plan to try a couple other people's phones, but I'm not seeing any signal increase on mine. Not sure if it's an issue with the unit, or...?

Just a heads up that the installation instructions say to not have the outside antenna within 12" of a window to minimize interference.

I do remember it saying that, and i forgot when i moved it to the back. Thanks for the reminder!

Will be good to go once i get a new battery installed on monday, possibly tomorrow. I have to figure out which battery to get to make the most out of the slot, while still keeping things affordable. I have done a few tests, nothing like what i plan on doing once i have a way to power it easily, and noticed that on the side of the building where i lose Line of Sight with tower, i was getting around 5-7 mb upload. After booster i got over 20. Download was around 25mb and i did not notice much improvement when boosted. That's plenty for me and i value upload more most of the time. That was only a few tests and i plan on doing thousands of live tests (automated) to get a big enough sample size to account for variance, and big enough to not have to wonder if it works or not.

For now, I'm going run a long and boring test to make good use of the time. My iceco fridge lasted over 26 hours on a single charge from a Jackery 160 (167wHs), which means it averaged less than 6.5 watts continuous usage during that time. That's... really low and i'm going to test it probably two more times to see if it can do it reliably; before i go telling people it uses less than 6.5 watts average (when set to 41 degrees Fahrenheit).

Between the fridge power consumption and the cell booster tests, there will be a lot of long and repetitive streams over this month. I'm really glad i am automating a lot of these tests so that i don't have to sit there for them. I don't imagine anyone will watch the entirety of any of these really long tests, so i will just post the results/averages here - aka the brief version. If anyone wants to check my numbers, that's what the channel is for; you can see every test from start to finish, as well as see how i export the data.

Rhino-Rack Folding Aerial Bracket (part number 43196) is great.

Getting my NOCO 26 amp Battery Charger/Maintainer tomorrow so i can use the 12V when the engine is off. (NOCO G26000 25% off through advance auto).

I decided to keep the speed tests simple and just do 2 sets of tests (no router/USB tether), 1 is for a wireless hotspot connection to phone from Desktop when booster is off, and one with booster on. Just two simple tests, but i will run them thousands of times this month across various locations/testing scenarios.

Installed my booster today (Drive Reach Fleet OTR). Ran a hot from my sPod through the firewall to the passenger rear. Mounted the Reach unit and power supply on the face of my ARB drawers using Velcro. Mounted the antenna to my Frontrunner rack using the FR tilting antenna mount, and routed the cable down the side of the rear hatch, then up under the weather stripping and under the drawers. Interior antenna is mounted on the dash just above the glovebox. All wiring is hidden under interior trim panels except for the exterior antenna cable where it enters the rear compartment.

Very clean, thanks for sharing! I’m embarrassed to share mine now xD.

lets keep those install updates going. need some inspiration.!!!!
IKR, i was enjoying everyone's pictures of their cool rigs and antenna setups!

Stop slacking, boys!

@CowboyTaco After you're done setting up i'd love to hear your thoughts. From my initial testing i found out that it boosts the upload speed WAY MORE than it does download. I noticed an immediate improvement in how fast my pages/videos load, even in an area with decent connection already. I am going down to the outer banks in november (next month), and then florida after that, and will be able to really test it more thoroughly then; my area is well covered currently so i am limited to certain tests (<1 mile from tower in most cases). I am very curious to test out the other antenna as well, so maybe if you ever come visit to pick up the fridge, i can test them side by side!

I also am trying to figure out ideal positioning of the booster and antennas. I noticed that sometimes when phone is too close to inside antenna, that there is some sort of interference or oscillation effect, that greatly reduces DL speed (but strangely upload is usually still good). Sometimes i have to move it just a few inches away from inside antenna to go from <1MB Download speed to 30MB download. Sometimes i get a great signal even when the inside antenna is stacked on top of phone (no interference). I'm a little puzzled there so maybe someone else understands whats going on.

Another thing i realized is that in areas where your download speed is already good, then the booster will not help DL speed but still greatly boost upload speed (up to 200-300% in some cases). This is great news for people planning to work from the road, or even play demanding games while on the road. This is great for someone like me!

Any updates for those who ordered? I recently saw the gb deal on a different forum, but found this thread with better responses.
What do you mean? Did you order and not get a tracking number? I found that best way to get a response is via their "Chat Now" feature on their site, during their open business hours. Please keep us updated!

Also, i have some bad news (or good, as perspective is key) that i will work on in the long run.

TacomaWorld got their coupon codes cut off, and so did we shortly after. They decided to discontinue their 10% off deal on their site, and reduce ours down to 10%. This will be effective at the end of this month, so please get yours before then if you are interested. The best i can do after this month, is likely to get them to price match. I am going back to the drawing board as to how we can earn ourselves a permanent discount, as a good discount is something we have to earn - by organizing enough volume in sales/being good customers.

The 25 people who signed up to make this possible earned us this discount, but not enough people bought after that to justify keeping it for good; quite frankly i dropped the ball. My goal is to work on some youtube/social media marketing stuff over the next few months, and earn us a permanent discount that way (same with ICECO).

I could use some help on that front - any feedback, pictures of setup, positive reviews from those of you who are happy, and etc.

With that said, I am very grateful to AllTech, weBoost and Gulf Signal for giving us this long of a window, as well as grateful to every member who participated. Although i do wish they would make it permanent like we initially discussed, I don't blame them as weBoost devices come with a very small profit margin to begin with. We basically earn our discount (their profit), by being good customers and paying them in other ways - like telling our friends/family/word of mouth, feedbacks, pictures to their social media/comment/reacts and etc. I will take the lead on this with some social media projects, and i have faith that those who can will step in to follow suit/throw me an assist. Thanks in advance to everyone for their time and thoughts on this.

As always, i will keep everyone updated here, and will update title to reflect the Nov. Coupon cutoff date (which i will fight to extend, with help). Thanks again everyone.

I just wanted to say I ordered an OTR one from them and wow did it make a difference. I needed a better cell booster for work (oil field) since my work depends on me having a good Hotspot in the field and it took me from barely one bar to 4 in some places. I plan on buying another one before month end for another personal rig. I appreciate all the hard work that went into making this possible.
