Weber 38 problem

Let me preface this question with the statement that I know little about carbs. My 77 FJ40 with a weber 38 carb will not start. I confirmed that fuel is being delivered to the carb. I then notice the butterfly valve is stuck closed and will not open. How do I fix this? Thanks.

You mean that the linkage doesn't move it or you can't move it at all?

Might need to just pull it off and put it on the bench and work it over and give it a good cleaning. You'll be able to see if there are any damaged parts giving you this problem.

the squares in the top, or the rounds ones in the bottom?

It is the square ones on top. I cannot move them at all. Thanks for your help.

that is the choke.
take a wooden or brass rod.....or something else soft. lightly tap down on the "fat" side of the butterfly.
there really should'nt be anything holding it stuck.
