When did you get the buick? Buy it for the kid?

I dont own any stinkin' buick.

Don't let him fool you Jeremy. He loves to collect domestic cars! He figures if he can keep them alive for a couple years they will be the last remaining ones on the road, and therefore, worth a fortune.

That's why he is concealing his investment.

Or he is making fun of a guy who wanted to do some maintenance to his mom's buick at tech day a couple years back.

If Scott doesn't have a bender, I can bring mine. Its a JD2 with a 1.75" 5.5 die. (It "can" do 1 5/8") Todd has a 1.5" if that's what you need, if you promise him sexual favors he might bring it. All it needs is air.

Todd most likely is holding out on his investment tips, like that Iraqi Dinar money making tip.

I don't need maintenance on a buick. I do my maintenance on the clock at work. I need repairs!

Yesterday toyotas, today buicks, tomorrow gutters and home repairs?

And kids soccer games, can't forget that one Timmy.

Your not gettin it Da'real,
I'm talkin about for tech day, if we can work on Buick's why not home repairs also. I could use some help to reseal my driveway so I'll have a "tech" day.
Ron could have one to do his gutters.
Of course after we do Gum's head gasket on is super collectable '89 Regal.

John, please bring your bender so Rob can work on his bumper.

No problem.

Rob.... What dies do you need?

Actually, I think I'm going to switch gears here for this tech day. I originally wanted to cut off the silly looking grill guard attached to the custom bumper that came with the 62 and replace it with a single 1.75" tube. I think I'm still going to cut off the grill guard, but I may just leave it bare for the time being.

So long story short, I do not think I will need a bender on this tech day.

However, I bought a bunch of steel a few months ago to make a decent rear bumper and I think if there are no other more important projects to work on, I'd like to start on my custom rear bumper. I have a pretty simple design in mind (in my head), and I am hopefully going to have a crude cardboard mock-up of it before Saturday. I tried at work today to unbolt the rear bumper and pull the hitch, but apparently the rusty self-destructing bolts are having none of that. It looks like the bumper will be coming off via cut-off wheel and/or torch.

Anyway, that is my plan. For some reason I usually end up working on other people's rigs on tech day, and I'll probably end up doing that again, but I'm going to at least load up all the steel, the plasma cutter, and some other tools just in case.

Okay.

Im still willing to load it up if anyone needs some bendin....

John, do you have any 1.75" tubing laying around?

If I were to want to bend up a front hoop for my bumper I would need about 5-6'. The main reason I was going to hold off is I don't have time to grab any tube this week. If somebody had a relatively small scrap of tube that would work for my application and they would want to sell to me I'd be more inclined to do it.

Looks like my 1.75" is .090 wall HREW (and a lil rusty). I did master bending that stuff as long as it is one plane....

I do have some 1 5/8" x .120 DOM. I think its day reals though (extra from some sliders maybe?). So if your going to buy it off someone, I think it'll end up being him.....IIRC....

Whatever you guys have would be appreciated. I'm not really picky about the girth of the tube... or the texture. I can always grind and paint. I'm willing to pay for any tube I can get my hands on.

Now that I've got Tony all worked up...

So, yes for bender?
