The title says it all. Driving in the pines I get good reception with xm on my Tundra and I thought the 470 came with XM standard. Nothing happens when I press the AM/ SAT. button. Radio stays on AM. I have the Levinson system as well.

Thoughts?

I don't know if it was standard, but you can find out easy enough.

1. Remove glove box. It just unsnaps from the bottom.
2. Remove 5 (or 6?) screws around plastic glove box frame and remove. Plastic clips on the back.
3. Look to the right of the CD changer in the cavity below the A pillar.

If you have it there will be a box labelled XM, with a big long antenna wire all wadded up in there.

IIRC XM was a dealer option so it's probably hit or miss.

thanks for the info! I will check and I did find that it was an option. Strange. I figured it would be standard with the Levinson system.

My 09 ML has the OE accessory XM module, the module is installed in the left rear side compartment and the antenna is mounted on the roof in the center just in front of the wing . This was a dealer installed option, it was never installed in the glove box according to the install instructions.

My 2007 ML had XM added by the first owner which means it wasn't standard. As @steveLX450 said above, mine was not in the glovebox. It was in the interior compartment above the driver-side rear tire. I don't use it so I pulled it out, along with all the wiring and antenna. It was easy to remove -- definitely an option.

Thanks for the info folks. Looks like mine never had the option.

can you share how you turn on or access the xm satellite radio
do you keep hitting mode on the steering wheel until xm pops up

You select xm using the am button, it will give you 18 preset channels. No it doesn’t have lifetime subscription. Lexus also offered an Ipod adapter (30 pin), you could only add the ipod or the xm, not both.
