Was deal thread, now TJM locker install thread

^ it was not an issue with the lockers, more of a dealer to distributor disconnect. The closeout deal was at Summit Racing because they were dropping the TJM product line all together( they inventoried most of TJM AU catalog of products for several vehicle platforms.) and they were blowing out remaining inventory.

I think JustDifferentials sells TJM. Or you can contact the TJM USA office for a link to a dealer contact.

So the actuator that seems to keep going bad on all these, is it just an issue with the ones from Summits sale?

Would just getting a brand new actuator off of TJM be a better way to go or would that one be suspect also?

I bought @ga89hoss locker that he got from the sale

The bad actuators are from this sale batch I believe. The TJM actuator design is actually really good the finish and build is high quality. It was the assembly that got botched. I sent TJM a pic of my actuator and I have a new one on the way.

You can also buy a brand new actuator for 40 bucks.

I think it was a random thing.

You can open the actuator by removing the circlip and inspecting the O ring. I think lubricating it would help- based on ZUK's findings.

I'll have my installer look it over.... knowing me I'd break it trying to open it..... delicate is not my way..... so i dont mess with regard or setting up lockers lol

Have any of you guys that have installed the front locker noticed how close the brass air connections 90 degree elbow gets to the steering rack cross member below it? I have the slee diff drop, so of course that makes things tighter as well. I ordered the complete 3rd housing from nitro and I've got minimal space in there between the fitting and cross member. Nitro installed the fitting in the standard location used in the tjm instructions and the other installs I've seen. I'm worried it will make contact, especially in low range going in reverse, since the diff moves down on the front bushing when in reverse.

Edit: I have installed all new bushings and have torqued everything to factory specs.

You mean like this....I had to shave it down to give it more room

Yes, exactly! Have you had any contact issues after shaving it down? I really don't want to have to remove the diff again, so i'm hoping I can remove my front diff drop spacer and jack the diff up enough to get in there with a dremel.

No issues, that's exactly what I did, lifted it up enough to make adjustments. I was not about to remove that thing again.

Awesome, thanks!

I would not be happy with that fitting if it arrived set up like that- with a little thought they could have used a shorter through fitting to maximize the clearance, and a nickel push to connect 90 degree elbow instead of the barbed fitting. That will eventually split or blow off at the most inopportune moment.

That actually was just in there for testing not the final product. The final product had a high pressure high temp rubber hose with a lock clamp around the fitting. The screw it self cannot be adjusted much at all, it doesn't have room on the inside either. Just enough room to work I guess..

I will be squeezing a rubber hose all the way on with clamp as well. I agree that there was no effort to optimize this for the 100 ifs vehicles.
