Matt,

Does your 105 have airbags? Can you tell us a little bit more about what you had to do to fit the 8274?

Should have bought it... I would double line a 8274 over any 12K winch or 15K winch...

Then as you smoke by them, waive.

giglepin

check out the giglepin mod for that winch.....don't kick yourself too hard:crybaby:

LOL - sorry mate - Ive been away.
Did you search? I know Ive posted those pics on Mud before!
Thats just the ARB commercial (cheep) bar for the 8274 to suit non-airbag (also cheep) cars. I think it is discontinued.
I used to have a M10000 hanging off the front, but this 8274, now on its 3rd car, is much easier to live with.
If I couldnt have bought this bar, I would have modified one to suit - even if it ment cutting into the grill. The 8274 is that much better to use - its worth it.
When I ordered the bar, ARB couldnt get me a photo of it installed on a car, so I was a bit suspect on how it would look. But, they were OK to exchange it if I wasnt happy. They design and build them from a jig. I feel they could have made the winch sit an inch closer to the grill, but it hasnt been a problem, and Im used to it now.
And I like the fact Ive never seen another one.:)

Cheers

Thanks for the info Matt...In effort to make myself feel better about not buying it I was comparing pics of our bumpers, and your bumper looks quite a bit different than mine.

Gday,
Thats similar to the ARB deluxe bar my M10000 was in. Mine was the model without the rubber bumpers tho, where the winch mounts to a cradle. - the 105 version.
I can assure you, when the winch is on the floor, infront of the bar, - after a few beers, the job looks quite easy.

Good luck - Im sure this is doable!

Matt,

How much room is there behind the winch? Is it remotely possible the winch could fit behind the grill? I realize you have a 105 though so this question might be pointless.

Gday
No, I couldnt fit that winch completely behind the grill, infront of the condenser.
I was looking at just cutting out a section of the grill to clear the motor and gearbox.
Ive seen something similar, on an 80srs, I think.
Id really like to see someone modify an ARB deluxe bar and do this now!
It was just too easy to buy the new bar and sell the old one at the time.

Cheers

Matt
