Warn 8000 goes out but not in

Tried the winch that came with my bumper for the first time today. It lets out the line but does not let it back in. There is no clicking, or sparks, or anything. It is almost like the button on the handle doesn't work. Does anyone have an idea or heard of this before?

Go down a couple threads to "Old m6000", and there is a link sent on how to troubleshoot the motor. I just yesterday figured my old winch. First, make sure that everything is grounded. Second, make sure that the power cable from the solenoid box aren't touching the sides and arcing out. The switches are momentary switches and they do fail, but check the motor first.

I did call. Very nice guy helped me. Gave me the closest warn dealer and told me to go there. I was hoping to figure it out on my own before having to take it somewhere. Gonna use the weekend to do the above suggestions. Thanks! Anything other suggestions?

quick update for future searches. I cleaned the contacts real good and works like a champ. Thanks for the input!
