Wanted Wanted to buy FJ40 or BJ40

Wanted to buy and FJ40 or BJ40, below are some specs:
1. Restored White or Dune Beige
2. Good running/strong F2 Inline 6 or Diesel engine
3. 1978 or newer (prefered)
4. Hardtop
5. Large fuel cell (a must for a DD)
6. Will be used as a daily driver but also for hunting & trout fishing
7. AC would be nice (not a must)

I live in Georgia,and would like to find one in South, but I'm willing to travel to see the right 40. I'd like to keep the price around $30K (+/-) for a good looking/running rig.

It might have a salvage title, but it still a 1982 Dune Beige good looking rig and supposedly fully restored....

Maybe you've already seen this? It's not your preferred year-range and it is located in California, but if I had $30K to play with I would bid on this and try to get a Mud member close by to check it out for you. Ebay can be sketchy and I am always willing to be wrong, but this "garage-kept" unrestored '75 looks to be a legitimately rust free original, a proverbial "unicorn" if true.

I am going out West next week to look at 77' FJ40. It supposedly comes with a binder that has all the service receipts from the bill of sale the day it was bought, till today.

It will be on the road and not locked up in a garage, that is for sure. I just need to have power steering added so my daughter can drive it when needed.


I know ACC Toyota in Atlanta works on FJ40's, is there anyone/shop in the Canton/Woodstock/Roswell/Alpharetta area that works on them?

Nice find Rick. Appears it came out of Texas? If so, what part? For all the members in the market for a 40 what did this beauty run you? Again Rick that looks great.

It came out of Henderson, TX and has 78K miles and is basically stock with the exception of A/C...$20K was the sell price. Many new OEM replaced parts, less the head lights from Roundeyes, Inc.
