Thanks for the friendly greetings!

Maybe I should also ask this question...

Does anyone know a good way to look for a FJ40?

I've mostly been looking at Craigslist and other such classifieds. I'm sort of disapointed because it seems so hard to find FJ40's for sale. I graduated in high school back in '99 and at the time I wanted to buy a FJ-40 but I became a poor college student and getting a vehicle was out of the question.

Back then, I remember I could simply look in the classifieds section of the local paper and every week there would be about ten 40's for sale. Nowadays, I never see any for sale in the papers and I see the same stuff all the time on Craigslist. Any suggestions on how to look for a 40?

Thanks again!

there was one for sale in Crested Butte??? a few weeks ago, on here, not sure if it sold.

The first thing to do is be patient. The right one will come along. Mud is a good way to start, Craigs is good. If you don't mind spending the extra money and can stomach a few surprises then you could try ebay.

Are you looking for a fixer upper or something that is ready to go? I may be getting rid of my 79 for a new project that just arrived and I am in Fort Collins.

Any way welcome!!

I'm basically looking for something that is inbetween a fixer upper and ready to go. As long as it runs decently, starts consistently, and doesn't have major rust damage I'm happy. I haven't quite decided what I want to spend, but I am probably looking to spend about 8-10k.

In that price range you should be able to pick up a pretty good one. I have about 13,000 in my 79 and it still needs about 2,000 more to get it where I want it. But I put a super six in it. That put a little of a strain on the wallet. It runs awesome though. I'll keep my eyes open for you.

Thanks. I appreciate it. I'd probably also go lower in price as long as the cruiser doesn't have bad rust. I've seen what my dad has gone through with the rust on his '82 and it doesn't seem like it would be fun to replace all that sheet metal!
