I have hiking trips planned the next two weekends if anyone is interested. Next weekend June 8,9,10 I am headed to Wilsons Creek to do some day hiking and find a swiming hole. Not sure specific trails yet, but it will be in that area. The weekend after 15,16,17 the wife and I are doing a short overnight on the AT. Plan is to start at Carvers Gap TN, and head to Elk Park NC. Day 1 is about 6 miles to the overmountain shelter, day 2 is about 8 miles to Elk Park. Just wanted to put this out there is case anyone is interested in either. Scale is at 242.4

Sounds like a sweet trip looking forward to pictures, wish i could make it out there though. Congrats on the drop since Christmas!

Good weekend in the mountains. Hiked north Harper creek falls, told the wife there were a couple of water crossings, turned out to be 12. At one point in the middle of the climb out I got “I’m never hiking with you again”. I think she was kidding. Yesterday I somehow got talked into mountain biking with an Atomic ski rep from CO. It was the hardest ride of my life but I finished. Both the wife and Connor conked out on the way home. Scale is at 239.8 which was one of my milestones, Last time I was in the 230’s was 2011.

Haven’t done much picture worthy lately but I’ve done a bunch of biking. Did the creeper trail with my dad last weekend. It was well out of his comfort zone, and hasn’t stopped talking about how much he’s enjoyed it since

This weekend my plan was to drive to Brevard in the morning, bike, then drive back. My wife suggested that I just camp out tomorrow night. My plan is to leave Charlotte early 7:00ish, ride from 10:00-2:00 they find a place to camp. If anyone in the Asheville area wants to grab a beer tomorrow night or camp let me know. Otherwise I’ll be The Lonely Wandering Fat Man in the woods. Scale currently at 232.2

If youre doin a lot of solo singletrack and camping, you may want to look into a SPOT or something similar. also, make color copies of your drivers license and insurance card (fromt and back), and any major med isuses, meds and allergies, and a couple of ermegency contact numbers. laminate those, and keep on your person.

You never know if youll yardsale and are unable to speak for yourself.

I always give Erika GPS coordinates of where I park and the trails I plan to run. I figure that would give rescuers a start l but your right

After riding yesterday and feeling the remoteness of it, I think it’s time to get something

Those things we never think about when we are young and invincible all seem to reveal themselves when kidlets come along.

It means they have to steal your finger when they steal your phone. It'll be eyeballs one day.
