I have a new Aternator and i think it says Transco on it, was on the motor
when i got it. I am sort of concerned as when the truck is running and
driving using no acessories the meter reads about 2/3's of the way
between 12 and 16. It is just below the little mark were the
white bar has a dash in it. Then when i have the lights on running at
night it is down to just above the 12 which is approx 13 volts and that
is what i am normally used to. Is there a chance that the alternator
is charging what i think is 14 volts and is that ok and am i just paranoid

Sounds perfect to me.............I bought one from Autozone and it was charging over 16 and I started blowing bulbs out everywhere..........

ended up getting a Toyota one and all better now..................

get a cheapo digital multimeter (sears / radio shack) and check the voltage at the battery while truck is running. You should be between 13 and 14 volts....
If you are much higher than 14 then I would say you have alternator problem.

Somewhere out there between 13 and 14, you're fine...

I would say that you can safely run up to 15 volts. Typically though, Elbert is correct. You typically see between 13 and 14 volts (nominal 13.5 volts).

I wish mine read that high. I think its time for me to replace mine!!!!
Leece Nevelle makes an honest 200 amp that looks real strong.

My Leece is internally regulated with a voltage adjustment screw on the top. Mine won't go past 14.8 volts, so I just leave it there.

So let me get this straight,
You are concerned because your new alt is actually charging compared to your old one right???

:D

You are good to go amigo.

The stock meters suck...
