what me worry

Thanks for the heads up Pin_Head now I worry a bit. :rolleyes:
 
I wouldn't worry about a few flakes of metal. Anytime the gears grind going from Lo to Hi and visa versa with the input spinning can make a few flakes. No big deal.
 
Yes the vc is a sealed unit in itself. Those metal bits probably from something else.
 
test the VC first, no use pulling it if isn't bad. Put one wheel up at a time and see if you can turn it.

All fine and good, but there's too much collateral damage possible if/when the VC does seize, for an unnecessary part that won't be missed, even by the most discriminating butt dyno'r.

It's a pointless part, evidenced by the inclusion to the NA destined and upper trim optioned 80s for the rest of the world, with about as much benefit as leather over cloth.
