93 fzj80. Vibration around 2k rpm while accelerating, once I take my foot off the gas the vibration stops. And sometimes when decelerating there will be GRRR sound that feels and sounds like it’s coming from the tc.

When looking under the cruiser I noticed transmission fluid coming out of the rear weep hole. I pulled the tc and the rear tans output seal is leaking. I don’t think this is making the vibration but might have been caused by the vibration.

I checked my ujoints and they seem fine. If they were bad I would still feel the vibration without accelerating correct? Same with the rear differential?

This leads me to think it’s a tc output bearing. But with tc off and me turning it by hand I do not feel any grinding or binding in any way it just feels smooth.
What should be next move to diagnose this vibration?

Have you tried driving with the front driveshaft removed? That way you can determine if it’s the front or rear that’s making the noise. Most driveline vibrations are from bad ujoints, no grease in the driveshaft, or the driveshaft angle after a lift is installed.

I have not tried that. After discovering the trans fluid I went right into removing the tc.

Wouldn’t you still feel a bad u joint while coasting or decelerating? Or is that a wrong assumption?
