nice billmc...I think I'll do the same. like Overhanger said, were the captive nuts pre-installed for the handle?

on the same note of Wife Approval Factor, I'm planning on a adding vanity mirror w/ a light. any suggestions? remember lads, if we're smart, then let the ladies get their mods, n they'll never question what you spend on your rig... :grinpimp:

Yes, they're there under the headliner. I bought the handle, screws, and screw covers from my local Toyota dealer--not expensive at all.

The fact that your wife (a) knows how to check the oil and (b) gives a s*** enough to is really impressive.

An alternative to the A-pillar handle is the 62 dash handle - easy to install as well. My girlfriend does this cute little combo move where she grabs both and pulls herself in. Fun to watch.

All these 62 handles must be because only really old people drive them....:flipoff2:

:confused:I need to get on a chair to even find my dipstick......they need to make a longer one.

Mine has an extension that was welded on by a PO, and painted red to boot. :princess:

Who has a good mod on how to find the dipstick hole in low light once you're done?

I know, a flashlight, but still...

Paint the tip of the dipstick tube the same colour maybe??

SHe drives a 60 everyday and loves it. She supported my buying the other 60 to have a parts truck and because it had an ARB bumper and side rails on it. She is impressive.

I installed this. I actually have one in the parts truck I do not need. I guess I should post it in parts for sale... She wants the handle on the drivers side... to help her get in the lifted truck.

I looked at that. I will probably use a brush on paint, but I need to get it clean first... Very not clean now.

Side note - with the dash shocks installed it is much easier for her to see and get to the dipstick. The hood opens maybe 8 inches wider.

Like this perhaps?

wow - that is crazy clean.

FAIL! You have a fram... that negates all of the nice cleanness and the perty paint for your dipstick..

:flipoff2:

Wrong, flamingo breath! Jim is using the Fram in its best application - covering holes during a paint job. No need to waste a good oil filter and the Fram is up to the task in this instance. :flipoff2:
By the way, can you get it into 4WD yet?

that is a really good way to help find the dipstick hole, i think i'll try that on the wifes.
Another Kudos to your wife for checking the oil. I think you need to take her out for a fancy dinner.
I used red electrical tape on the handle of my dipstick, more for the guys at the gas station though. But now with the lift and tires i pretty much have to climb on the front bumper.

Yep, that is the "shop" oil filter. It is used on every 2F build during assembly. Never leaves the shop. Gets replaced with Wix 85773 for startup.

Same engine, a week later:
