I recently posted a thread about a vendor and the moderators deleted the post in less than 8 minutes. I thought this was a place to share our experiences and learn about the best products. Am I missing something? There were no negative comments about this particular vendor, but this experience leads me to believe information is being covered up. Shady! Is there a honest forum somewhere?

What is a product for an 80 series? If so, this is the place!

Yes sir, sliders for a 80 series. The challenge is it has been 2 months and zero progress. I posted here so others can be aware of their fulfillment time and look elsewhere if you need an item before 2 months. The thread was deleted in less than 8 minutes, Metal Tech must be a paid sponsor and can have negative posts deleted almost instantly. When I contacted Metal Tech, they said there were in production and would be shipped shortly. I called again, same story and same timeline was communicated 1 month later. I'm not posting to "slam" Metal Tech, but I will not order from them in the future and was hoping to save a fella Land Cruiser person having to go through this experience.

There's a section in the classifieds to post 'bad 'sellers. Maybe it'd be more appropriate there?

That might be a good place for this thread but to be deleted is odd because it was about a product for 80's and people bash venders all the time in other threads without being deleted or share their experiences with the company they were dealing with.

This is 80s tech. A bad vendor experience should go in the vendor forum. The moderators are quite forgiving most of the time, but you might have caught someone on a bad day.

True, but it would be nice to understand why it was deleted. Metal Tech isn't listed on the vendor forum and the "Bad Seller" forum appears to be more focused on individuals in the marketplace. In the post that was deleted, another forum member had a similar experience with Metal Tech and had to wait months for the product. I'm not alone and it would be good to know as common knowledge. Metal Tech quoted me 3 weeks, but could not commit to a date. 8 weeks later and no progress, missing it by a few weeks is ok, but now we are 1 month past that date and still no shipment. Who knows when I will actually receive the product that was paid 100% in full 2 months ago!?!?!?

OK, I'll try again. Follow along this time.
This forum is for 80s tech, which is why the forum is called "80 Series Tech". Now, even though the product you purchased was for an 80 Series, the vendor makes lots of stuff for lots of vehicles. The correct place to post your grievance would be in the vendor forum.

This was not a conspiracy against you or vendor feedback in general. You simply posted in the incorrect forum. Usually, posts like that get moved by the moderators to the correct forum. Maybe that was the original intent and a mistake was made. That does happen from time to time.

Haha it is a pretty close group here, and the admins are not some nameless faces, they are people most know, and even consider friends. It is much less likely that they have some hidden agenda to hide the truth than the fact that like John said, they are Venders and as that was a review of the vender and not anything technical about their slider it likely belonged in the Vender section or chat.

Not a big deal, you can agree with the logic and go post over there or keep arguing the fact that there is some conspiracy among very small groups that provide excellent aftermarket kit for old dying trucks. One will likely leave you less stressed than the other.

Agreed, all good! I wasn't aware and as other people noted, there are vendor comments in threads all the time. I was only making people aware of the potential delays. Maybe I'm too sensitive on this subject, but I've seen it in other forums and consider it dirty pool personally. Happy to be part of the community, the Land Cruiser experience has started rough so far and looking forward to turning the corner:)

Thanks for that condescending tone. I did not realize you took this action since you appear to know the intent.
To clarify, I am not a moderator here. I'm pretty sure no one would want me as one.

Go start a thread in the Bad sellers if its bothering you. Then everyone else can post whatever there experience is good or bad. Its not just for individuals, I posted one there on AOE a few months back for everybody's benefit. I will say the Metaltech sliders are the bomb though.

I did not delete this and know nothing about any of what transpired.
However, I do think that it would be smart to wait until after a bit more than all of 17 posts and 2 months here before accusing the forum / mods of being shady and engaging in some big cover-up...

Awww, you'd be a great mod Jon!(actually anyone who gets shoved that way has my vote, seems a thankless job).

OP - if it makes you feel better I had a thread I tried to keep 80 specific about hauling your bicycles, it got towed too. It happens, go with it - besides, it's just the interweb.

Go along, get along - Metaltech has a good track record & I'll bet ya a dounut they show soon. Amazon has made us all soft.
