I was looking to pick up a copy of this book for a while. But Amazon wants between $350-$710 for the book! So I started googling and came across a post over at Expo saying that the author is getting ready to do a reprint. I emailed the publishing company and got put on the waiting list. Here is that email address. It sounds like they hope to have the reprint done some time this summer.

I have a copy for sale over on Expo.... trying to pay off my Flippac ; )

I just bought a new 3rd edition from Mr. Sheppard. Total cost US dollars with shipping was $81. He E-mailed me and said the books should go out in two weeks.

From Tom Sheppard himself in reply to my email:

Good evening Joey,

Thanks for the enquiry. Actually it's Edition 3 now (after 9 months' work!) and it should be off the press and ready so ship in a couple of weeks. If you want to place your order now please do, Cost is 36 GB pounds for the book and 16GBP postage to the US - total 52. Ask PayPal to pay in pounds if you will. (Website is being updated.)

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,

Tom Sheppard

I was surprised to receive an e-mail directly from Tom. I had sent a generic e-mail asking to be put on a list if it existed and to my surprise I received a nicely worded e-mail from the legend himself. I look forward to receiving my copy.

Just got mine today!

So, just send 52pounds using Paypal to www.desertwinds.co.uk? That's it? You get a massive 500 pages of goodness?

I pre ordered while he was still printing so I would not be the best comparison for an eta.

He seems very organized so I would assume a week to two and a half weeks would be a reasonable amount of time.

I've gotten my copy and started working my way through it. Alot of good information for the International traveler, shipping, borders, etc. Goes into detail about equipment, type, packing, etc.

I've enjoyed it so far.

I would love to see this in an e-book. I like hard copies of FSMs and maps, but for this type of reference where I am likely to only use it at home (being realistic for my needs) I much prefer e-books.
