I know it will have only been a couple weeks since a lot of you guys went out, but is anyone up for another day trip this Saturday the 17th?

A couple of the CLCC guys and I are planning on taking on some trails. Where, you ask? Well, my first thought was GWNF, of course. I've only done Salt Shed, so it would be great to try some of the other trails.

But, we're open to suggestions. So, anyone have any ideas?

Felix

I would but I am heading back to Atlanta that day after exams. We definitly have to go again soon though. Have fun!

I could be up for it. But i still need to assess the damage from the last run, i.e. change fluids and look at a new leak form the t-case. I'll let you know.

I think I would be up for it.

I have done Salt Shed and Flag Pole Knob but I have not done 2nd Mountain or Dictum Ridge.

With the snow and ice that we are supposed to get this week, anything would be interesting.

DAMN! I have no driveshafts, and a Christmas party!!!! I really wanna test out the new gears and front locker too.

OH CRAP!!! I said "Christmas" please don't sue me or anything.

Driveshafts?

Green 73,

What driveshafts do you need?

My pinion flanges are mini truck bolt pattern, and t-case outputs are Cruiser. SOA, stretched wheelbase, so basically custom shafts. I am waiting in a new set of springs before getting new shafts, as I know thay will screw with angles, etc..

Cool, so we have jcj, maybe Brian, anyone else? Chris? Brandon? Jamie? bk? Chuck? Neil?

jcj,

9:30 at the Sheetz on Rt. 33 sound like a good meeting place and time?

hmmm. It is cold as all.....I need to get my fluids swapped. I have all the Amsoil in my truck.....
Let me see what the wife needs done. she has a baby shower on Sunday, so I might be able to get out.

I'll let you guys know

To damn busy this time of year. Sides that gonna be working on getting the M12 into the ARB this weekend. Although it would be fun I don't see any way its gonna happen till 06.

I have a few more things to do before I can wheel....I need to finish my steering and brakes on the truck - AND - the wife said no more wheeling until the cabinents are in at the cabin.

Anyone driving near Haymarket, VA on the way down? I have a bumper I need to have picked up - I'll pay your gas + beer money (no Mr. Bascom - I don't think I can pay all your beer money, just some of it) :grinpimp:

bk

I'll be driving through Haymarket, but it will be pretty early. Around 7:30 or so, depending on the meeting time in H-burg we decide on. Will whoever has the bumper be awake on a Saturday morning?

And will it fit in the back of my 40?

Sounds Good.

I’m pretty sure I know where this Sheetz is. Is this the one in H-burg on 33 just west of 81?

I would like to make it, but somehow I lost my brake master cylinder cap. I have been trying to find a replacement today but no luck. I have checked all the local parts stores, Toyota parts depts, etc, but it sounds like I can't get one until next week. Does anyone out there have one I can buy? I need the large front one for a '73. I think they were the same size from '70-'80.

If not I guess I will have to pass this time.

A couple of thoughts:

1) Don't eat the tomato sandwiches at Sheetz or you may be replacing the two "ee's" with an "i".

2) Second Mountain was the first wheeling trip I ever took back when I lived in VA. It was raining and there had been a lot of snow in previous weeks. We got to the last half mail of the trail on the north side of the hill, and ran into 2 feet of rain soaked snow (and for some reason decided to go forward). It took 7 hours to get back off the trail. Those were in my stock Cherokee days. It's a very easy trail without the snow issue...lots of fun with the snow.
