Using only two Switch-Pros' switches with front and rear lockers

I just installed a Switch-Pros unit to control my ARB compressor, and front and rear lockers. The standard wiring uses three switches: one for the compressor; and one for each of the lockers. This seemed like a waste of one switch since the compressor must always be on when one of the lockers is in use. Rather than using a manual switch, I used two relays to turn on the compressor whenever one of the lockers is turned on. Some activities, such as airing up, only require the compressor, but I consider engaging a locker is a reasonable tradeoff for not losing a switch. The colors refer to the ARB compressor wiring, but the concept should work with any setup.

FWIW I am doing something similar, albeit with standard buttons. My rear locker switch activates the compressor. The front locker can only be activated after the rear is engaged. I think for my use case this works well YMMV
 
Love the idea.

It's funny how quick 8 switches get used. So any strategies to save spots is a good one.

Saving a switch slot?
IDK... but tying them together seems like there are easier and better ways to do this.

To me it would make sense to use normal Analog switches for all 3 functions since if anything fails in the switch pros unit everything will be rendered In-opp...
The compressor would be first priority to keep operational since that is the most frequently used.
Lockers are optional... so it's not going to make or break a trip if the switch pro's dies.. (and they do die, and are solid state so basically no chance of a field repair for the it)

For ARB air lockers, i rewire the switches to be independent of each other anyway.. There are uses for a front locker alone, in the right circumstances.


It's your truck, so do whatever you want, but i would think of all the failure modes of the setup and what is your primary objective.
