Hi to all,
I have old points Distributor in my 1978 FJ40,
i want upgrade this Distributor to electronic Distributor...
for FJ40 this upgrade is better or no ?
please help me about this...

Thanks...

Upgrade dizzy

I fitted a "power spark" module that I found on eBay of about $60, takes place of the points works great. Easy to fit and with their coil to suit gives a big fat spark.

Pertronix.

Call Mark at Mark's Off Road 818-953-9230 Authorized dealer and he's been installing them in Cruisers for years.

You should have a electronic one already.

Question.....

This fix mentioned here would not help a dizzy with a worn shaft, correct?

Thanks to all,

Please if possible take here your FJ40 Distributor photos and what is the best way to
install and adjust Distributor...
Thanks...

If you have a 1978 NON-US FJ40, the simplest upgrade to your distributor is a PERTRONIX points replacement.
The part number 91661 should be correct for your year.

77 point type

I have a 77 with a 2F, I am curious.. it's a point type, vaccum Advance, but I am NOT certain if the advance works off negative or positive ( obviously vaccum is negative pressure) but I have heard there is a positive advance and a negative advance, does anyone have any info on this? When I bought this rig the advance module was disconnected.

Pete, it gets confusing if you jump in and ask a different question on someone else's thread.
Why don't you start a new thread and include some photos and I'm sure you'll get the help you need.

Pertronix is a good option. Kurt at CruiserOutfitters can help you there.

if it's in the u.s., but just has a non us dizzy, go dui and have a new dizzy with readily available gm parts
